Those were Freshman of the Year winners.

Oh I thought that's what he was talking about.  His poor grammar and spelling confuse me.  Thanks.

Obviously it was a tongue-in-cheek comment that Markus has it locked up. However, he still has the best chance out of all the other guys even if Marquette finishes behind Villanova. Just don't fall behind St. John's.

My comment was to demonstrate the absurdity of the previous posts.  Shamorie, booth n marcus have nothing locked up.  The next 6 weeks will go along way in determining who ultimately wins.  And numbers aside it will most likely go to a player on the team that wins the BE title.  Additionally, with all the talk of Shamorie and Markus, Booth has been playing at an incredible level,  shooting a really nice percentage, playing outstanding defense, and has a great assist to tyrnover ratio.

As usual, here's what happened:

You throw something silly out there as an absolute, "I'm right and everybody else is wrong" opinion disguised as fact:

Booth if anyone has it locked up.

Then you get called out on your dopiness by several Scoopers, including me.

Then, realizing you were wrong but not willing to admit it, you attack those who point out you were wrong while trying to explain you really meant something other than your first shoot-from-the-hip post. Just like your past posts ripping Sacar and Luke. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You cap it off with your ignorant attack on journalists, as if that has anything to do with this conversation at all.

Recent winners include Billy Garrett, Angel Delgado and Henry Ellenson.  All three came from teams with losing records in conference.

So I don't think standings matter anywhere close as much as you think it does.

We r actually talking about BE POY, plz attempt to keep up.  Markus, shamorie , n booth are not eligible.

The past few BigEast POY:
Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Kris Dunn, Ryan Arcidiacono, Doug McDermott, Otto Porter, Jae Crowder

all from teams with winning records in conference

And most from the conf. Champion

With Markuss powerful numbers, if Mu stays close to Villanova he has a chance.  If mu win BE its his.  If nova wins BE by more than a game or two i feel it will go to booth, JMHO

The booth comment was as silly as the previous one that Markus had it locked up.  U cant see that because u choose not to, its ok, i know thats who u are.  A poor trait we see in many journalists today.

Absolutely great for Joey, the 2018-19 BE Freshman of the Year.

However, the Big East apparently has become as used to Markus' excellence as Scoop has, because he failed to winBEPOW this week despite averaging 27 ppg and 6.4 apg this week - instead it went to Tayshon Alexander with 22.5/2.5

I still think A.J. Reeves from Providence will be Freshman of the year in the Big East despite being out all this time. The awards generally go to all the East coast schools in the league. Hope I'm wrong.

Are you really using facts in a discussion with MSK?  You know he throws those out the window.

As for Beast Freshman of the year, I think Joey is making a vey strong case.  Reeves hurt his chances with the amount of time off he had because of the injury, and if Gtown gets on a roll, McClung and Akinjo will likely steal votes from each other.  What other candidates are out there?  Duke hasn't put up great numbers, Bey has been solid but not great either.  Zegarowski?

Five of the last 10 BE newcomers of the year have come from Midwestern schools (Lance Stephenson, Cleveland Melvin, Billy Garret Jr., Henry Ellenson and Justin Patton), so I wouldn't say they all go to the East Coast schools.

Dont disagree but some coaches will not even face Reeves, kinda hard for them to vote for them under those conditions.

Reeves is back, so he'll face every team at least once.

I wouldn't say that; but I do think that the coaches try to "spread the wealth", so if, say, a coach were to vote for Markus as POY, I think that would make him less likely to vote for Joey as FOY.

Since the reformation, the Big East Freshman of the Year Award has gone to:

Billy Garrett Jr (DePaul)
Angel Delgado (Seton Hall)
Henry Ellenson (Marquette)
Justin Patton (Creighton)
Omari Spellman (Villanova)

So 3/5 have gone to Midwest schools.

The POY award has been a little more titled toward East coast schools since the reformation, 4/5 going to east coast schools, including a year where two east coast schools had co-POYers so 5/6 in a way. But with those award going to Kris Dunn (x2), Josh Hart, and Jalen Brunson, I don't think this come from East Coast bias so much as they were the actual best players in the conference that year. The only one I would maybe question is Ryan Arcidiacano of Nova...but he was co-POY with Dunn.

I like how clueless MSK thinks he's insulting me by calling me a journalist.

Very proud to be associated with that profession, which is more important now than ever. Reporters have been American heroes these last 2+ years.
