Marquette Non MBB pro athletes?
« on: May 07, 2024, 10:49:49 AM »
I know of two boxers (Feliciano and Arias), a WBB player (Hiedeman), and a soccer player (axel sjoberg) .

Are there any other pro athletes that have come out of MU over the years? Track, lax, soccer, golf, etc?

There’s definitely some lacrosse players of which I think a few are all stars.

I think there was a speed skater in one of the recent Olympics

Completely spaced on Emery Lehman, double embarrassing for me to forget because he went to my high school as well.

Well, he wasn't a "pro," but Ralph Metcalfe was a world-record-setting runner and two-time Olympian. He might be best remembered for finishing second to Jesse Owens in the 100 meters at the 1936 Olympics - meaning the Fuhrer had to watch two "inferior" human beings get the gold and silver medals in arguably the biggest event of the Berlin Games.

Marquette also produced dozens of NFL players, including 1st-round draft picks Johnny Strzykalski, Ray Buivid and Ron Drzewiecki.
