First, if you're going to say you're not "throwing someone under the bus", you should probably spell that guy's name correctly.  Second, Durley plays on a team featuring one of the top 5-10 big men in the country, so he doesn't "play on his high school team".  The kid is 6'11", is a pretty well regarded player, and seems like he is worth the investment.  We're not going to get 5-star big men to come here.  And if we do, they're staying for 1 year and jetting to the NBA.
buzz obvioulsy knows the kid's abilities a lot better than any of us, but it does surprise me that we have a recruit coming in that doesn't even get to play in most games.  if he shows up at mu, i'll be happy, as it would show buzz has confidence he can develop him into something, and i have no reason to believe his coach is lying in terms of compraing him to otule, but i can't believe we've ever had a recruit that was eligible to play his senior year of ball and played so little.  seems very odd that a coach could afford to sit a D1 player, but i have no idea who else is on the team or how the coach runs the team.

The only other option I see that year is TJ Taylor.
i'm hoping he becomes a valuable shooter off the ball.  i've back vander on here often, but i'm starting to wonder if the development will ever come.

I don't know the veracity of this site, but they do have him rated highly among their Texas recruits.

Marquette's all time leading scorer wasn't much of an offensive threat until his junior year

What are you talking about? McNeal averaged 14 pts a game his sophmore year.

Plus, McNeal won the Big East's Defensive Player of the Year Award his sophomore year so what he lacked on the offensive side he MORE than made up for on the defensive side.

Marquette's all time leading scorer wasn't much of an offensive threat until his junior year was a POTENT offensive threat until his junior year and was a DOMINANT offensive threat his junior and senior years.

FIXED.

murobrob,

It was an honest mistake, but by now I trust that you have learned there is no better way to guarantee a bunch of grips about current players and recruits not yet on campus than to use "A few positives" as the title of a thread.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Sorry...I will get with the program.   All it will take is another loss and a new thread will be generated with a "few negatives"

Seriously, appreciate all the discussion and dialogue.
