I wore my final four shirt to work today and it got me in the mood to watch this.  With it being the offseason and coming off of an elite eight I wanted to remember the great final four run.

I know it's been posted and reposted here many of times, but this is one of my favorite things to watch.

Close your eyes TC haters, because he gets a lot of tv time.

It did not look good early. Seemed like they were just barely hanging out and Kentucky would pull away. Funny as to how I have no recollection of the early struggle.

Thanks for posting this game again.

As much as I dislike I4, having Gen. Hal Moore address the team (troops) was an awesome idea.

I think I saw Otule play the last :46

*Nitpick police*

3 Final Fours is a pretty good accomplishment...yet Vern as the clock was running out said MU was going to the Final Four "for only the 3rd time ever".

Lots of programs would love to have that problem!

No way!

That would have been moved to The Superbar.

This site is pretty awesome.  As incredible as it is to go back and watch how effortless Wade made the game look (I miss watching him when he played like this, dunking on everyone and anyone, just getting to the rim at will), it is insane to search Davidson and watch the highlights of Curry that they have listed under the video of the entire game.  It's like a video game.

Definitely.  I didn't remember it getting tighter in the 2nd half like that, and that charge call (which, frankly, looked pretty questionable to me) when UK could have cut it to 9 was absolutely huge.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Agreed that most of the game was a lot tighter than the final score indicates.  I remember grabbing a slice of pizza at halftime and not thinking or talking about the game at all... no expectations, no anticipation, not even a "wildest dream" moment.  Heck, if there wasn't a scoreboard right in front of us, I would have never guessed that MU was so comfortably in the lead after Wade's dunk just before the under-4.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

The most entertaining part of the entire video - obviously knowing the outcome already - was listening to the raw feed during the commercial break with about 2:10 remaining in the game where Raferty was talking on the headphones with his producer about the graphic...

"What's the margin here, 18...I don't want to go out on a limb though, Mike...huh, why would we say that I mean, with 2:10 to go in this thing... uh, yeah, I know, but we should be current with it... nyuh, makes it look like the graphic was made up last night."

[Graphic reads: "All 4 Number 1 Seeds Remain"]

Starts about 1:09:45 in the video.

Shortly after the 1:09 mark when there's a timeout, Verne and Raft are still mic'd up and talking unedited and it's just awesome. Highly recommend that part.

The obsession Chicos has with Tom Crean is incredibly odd.  He thinks it's odd that people can't get over a guy who left 5 years ago and can't get over how we can't let the guy go, yet Chicos brings him up even more at every chance he gets.  There were very few references to Tom Crean in here, and no knocking on Crean in here whatsoever, yet here Chicos is to bring it up.  If you want us to let it go, you might have to do the same too.

The steve novak flop was by the far the biggest call in the game.  Instead of only being up 9.  We maintain a double digit lead and go on a 5-0 run or something like that

I'm thrilled someone posted the link to the game.  There are about 20 guys here that to this day don't believe this game ever happened....it's been erased from their memory.  I was just beating them to their same old tired diatribe how we lost in the Final Four...forget the 4 wins to get there, it's all about losing in the Final Four.

+1

It's also hard to explain to younger fans and others that weren't following MU or CBB closely in 2003 how significant and shocking that win was. It wasn't even the fact that we beat the perceived best team in the nation, but how we beat that team on that big of a stage. Great game plan from Crean and an amazing effort from Wade. Wade was the best player on the court by a very significant margin.

Bottom line, that was a program changing win. I love re-living the memory.

The Wehrmacht overran continental Europe but 1945 ended rather differently.
