Fun Fact about SIU-E
« on: December 20, 2016, 03:03:49 PM »
SIUE has suspended Tre Harris, nephew of coach John Harris. Tre was the leading three point shooter for the Cougars with 25 deep balls. Without him on the roster, SIUE has a total of 26 three pointers made on the season. Which is exactly how many Sam Hauser has made to date. That's right, Sam Hauser has more three pointers than the entire roster of our next opponent. And he did it with one less game!

Time to pad those defensive stats!

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

We couldnt spring for a little better opponent in SIU-C?

(Okay maybe im a little bit bias because I know one of the coaches and players for Carbondale)

Really rooting for Harris but I think he bit off more than he could chew. He's recruiting against a decent SIU, Bradley, SLU and more in that location. Really wish him luck but I'd have gone the rout Wardle did if I were him.

I have zero doubt that the Marquette connection to Jon Harris is why we are playing SIUE. I am 100% in support of that one, no matter the quality or RPI impact, especially as we celebrate 100 years of Marquette basketball.

Yea, no. If there was a better RPI option give me that one, but if it was going to be a buy game anyways, SIUE is fine.

Both of my children go to SIU Carbondale and I'm wearing an SIU shirt as I speak.

Cura Personalis shouldn't end at graduation. If we can still help an alum get going in his career, I'm all for it.

So that's the excuse you're going with if we lose?

Our buy games sucked again this year.  MU really needs to do a better job scheduling.  Thankfully our other 5 games and the big east being really strong from 1-8 will keep our SOS numbers respectable, but they could be so much better with some wiser scheduling.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Given the 3 point defense played by Marquette this year, I expect SIUE will have plenty of made 3s by the end of this one.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

If we lose, the issue won't be playing SIUE, it will be much bigger than that.

He probably thought that he had a better chance recruiting where he grew up and had a name from his HS days and contacts.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I doubt that Missouri Valley Conference members do buy games.

SIU-E also played Indiana. I am sure that Crean was trying to help out one of his guys as well.  Nothing wrong with helping out a former player who is trying to make it in the biz.

I sure hope MH & KR are back for this one. SIUE took UWGB to OT on Monday night.

He did go the route Wardle did. He's just a step behind. He's in the Ohio Valley Conference, which is probably at the Horizon level.
