They all received the J&J shot. Wonder if the Vaccine can cause a false positive.
-
None of them had symptoms. 85% of the team and personnel is fully vaccinated also
They still played the game last night.
-
People can still catch Covid with vaccination. The chances are even higher with J&J.

So what? Serious illness, hospitalization, and death are off the table. Focus on something else. This just doesn't matter. It over. Believe the science, its real, hey?

Anecdotally this is not true

Factually it isn't true either. I interpret the statement as "serious illness, hospitalization, and death are occurring at levels that are acceptable for many people", which is true. It was also true for some people at the hight of the pandemic in 2020 but at least now it's at levels (and improving) where that conversation is a rational one to have.

It’s cute that you are all about believing the science now that the science denier you worshiped for 4 years is promoting conspiracy theories from afar.
Also, you don’t think it’s news worth reporting if athletes and coaches get Covid?
Having said/asked that, Doc, I do agree with what I think is your main sentiment here: Unless there is a wave that again puts thousands of Americans at risk of serious harm, we have to live our lives as best we can while following the science regarding the virus and its variants.

I think Doc was saying to serious illness, hospitalization, and death are off the table for people who have been vaccinated. At least that is how I read it.

Ah, got it.
I'll just add....it's the Yankee's, who cares?

It is pretty well known that J&J is like 75% effective. That means it is 25% ineffective. People will get infected. This is expected.
The big upside here is that if you are vaccinated, it is very unlikely that you will be hospitalized and/or die.

Correct. No excuses, get that poker in the arm asap

100% correct. But fear porn is more fun for some people.

Yes very rare but strangely enough I know more people who have been hospitalized with severe Covid symptoms post vaccination (2) then I did prevaccination (0).

After one shot or two? How long post vaccination?
-
Miles Bridges, who was the Hornets' best player in April (19 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg, .467 from 3), just had to miss 5 games due to COVID-19. Without him and other injured/ill players, the Hornets are struggling to get the best position possible within the play-in tournament. He could be back tomorrow.
I happen to think all of that is newsworthy, but maybe others think "covidnewsnomatta."

Both well after 2....more then a month after second

Interesting, rare but not unheard of. 95% is not 100%. Variants have probably lowered that a tad too.
Just unlucky.

I don't believe there is any evidence that variants have lowered the possibility of catching Covid post-vax.

I think he said the effectiveness was lowered. - not the possibility of catching it.

Correct

You seem to be enveloped with statistical anomalies.

Bill Maher tests positive despite being fully vaccinated and has to cancel taping of the show that would have aired this past Friday.
https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/14/entertainment/bill-maher-covid-trnd/index.html
"Thanks to all wishing me get well - hard to do since I feel perfectly fine, but I appreciate it!," Maher tweeted. "Most upset about ending my streak going back to 1993 of never missing a Politically Incorrect or Real Time episode. Oh well, even Cal Ripken had to sit one out at some point."
I'm reading more and more that when you've been vaccinated, you are far less likely to get hit hard by the virus. One would like to thin that would motivate those who want to get back to "normal."
