Just getting a gauge of everyone's feelings.

Your thread and poll are completely different

But the answer to the thread is, yes.

With the roster as of now I expect us to be a borderline Top 25 team and comfortably on the right side of the bubble.

Just avoid the 8/9 seed and I'll be happy.

(I voted 4 to 6)

If there's no other announcements from players and no major additions, I'd expect a 6-9 seed range.

I think the way too early polls are accurate in regards to MU next season.   I voted 4-6, but I could see a 3.

A bit hard to determine in that we will loss 40 - 60% of our starters and our backup point guard is questionable given his injury. Shaka is a great coach but he needs a few more horses to pull this wagon. If he does not go to the portal we will need to reconsider what are realistic expectations.

There is 1 opening.  He will fill that 1 opening.

1 opening currently.  Filling 1 opening, he will have to do.

1 opening.  The roster is set other than that 1 opening.

There is 1 opening.  1 opening.  1 spot to fill.

If Shaka does not go to the portal and everyone else stays, most experts seem to believe this is a top 15-25 team next season, which seems achievable.

I believe MU is a program that should make the tournament 90% of the time.  Outside of Crean stepping on his Johnson after the FF year, that’s about where we were at after 2003 before Wojo, and where Shaka has us trending.  I don’t think we’ll fall off enough next year to miss altogether, but don’t see us getting a protected seed.  Would love to be wrong about that, though!

Will MU make the ncaa tournament next season? Better question…will Shaka beat Gard next season? Gard knows ball.

Picked a 1-3.

Getting in early so that I can catch all the kudos for years.

That's not a good question at all.  The game means very little in the grand scheme of things.  It's funny thinking about Scoop the day of the Wisconsin game.  People were claiming Shaka would have to start beating in state rival Wisconsin at some point or his seat will get hot.  Then he just went and got 2 seed again.  Sign me up for losing to Wisconsin and getting a 2 seed every single year.

just having fun. Didn’t mean for this to be some kind of challenge or counter. I’ll try to drop Gard talk…no guarantee, of course 🤣 (but come on, ya gotta beat your rival)

I would predict a 3/4 seed, with much regression offset by a special duo of freshmen incoming. I do also think Shaka makes one (1) significant transfer addition.

1 seed after the Donovan Clingan transfer in.  Rumor is he really doesn't like Hurley.

Is it strange I think the team that finally breaks through won’t be a protected seed?

NC State would say no, not strange at all.

Marquette is better with that underdog chip on our shoulder. Just something about the culture of the university/city.

Stating the obvious given his VCU success, but I'd say the same for Shaka too. Consistent success with consistently high expectations will be the next level for MU.

I think we will finish in top 5 of conference. I thought top 5 in Big East would almost guarantee a bid. However, this year Big East only got 3 bids.

Don’t forget that two years ago we lost 60% of our starting lineup and our top two scorers.  We were picked 9th in the conference.  Things worked out pretty well I’d say, winning double Big East titles and a program-record 29 wins.
