Remember the Titans
« on: February 26, 2009, 02:02:45 PM »
I suddenly flashed on the scene late in the movie where, after the horrific car crash, everybody is in Gary's hospital room and the coach wants to take some time to pray
"Coach, I'm hurt.  I ain't dead."
DJ is hurt, he ain't dead.   There is basketball to be played.   Hopefully, Buzz, the coaches, and the rest of the team are figuring out how we can beat Louisville, Pitt and Syracuse ANYWAY, and not dwelling on what they, and all of us, have lost.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I thought it was a pretty decent analogy, considering the circumstances...

Love it.  Incredible movie...somewhat fitting for our situation.

Aside from the whole "their guy was paralyzed, ours broke his foot" thing. Minor difference.

Well, it's better than the alternative of feeling awful this entire day, which I've done anyways.

Not to rain on the parade, but...

Gerry Bertier played in the championship game. He wasn't paralyzed until after the playoffs were over and the title was won.
