Calvin Peete dead

One of my favorites growing up.  Amazing to see a guy that didn't pick up a club until his 20's get so good so fast.

Me too, won the Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO) more than once if I remember correctly.

Man,  I knew he was a rags to riches guy, but that story is f*ckin incredible.

Even when his career was wrapping up, the man had ridiculous accuracy. When the old Western Open moved from Butler Natl to CogHill, Cal played in one of the first events there, on an exemption. I can't remember whom he was paired with, but on the 13th Tee, I heard Mr Peete's caddie point out that "just left" of so-and-so's ball is ideal. I'll be GD if Cal didn't hit his drive 5feet to the left of his playing partner's ball, and (for those times, and his advanced age) a "long" 280yd out as well!!!
