Marquette Lacrosse Question
« on: May 05, 2017, 08:43:39 AM »
So after a pretty mediocre rebuilding year, Marquette upset Denver last night in the BE tournament semis.

They play Providence tomorrow (in Providence) for the BE championship.  Do they get an auto NCAA birth if they win?

Thanks.  I actually had "berth" typed and didn't think it was right.

They're actually a lot better than their record indicates. They lost to Notre dame on a fluke goal with 20 seconds left, lead the entire game against Nova until the very end and lost in OT, and had Duke on the ropes in the second half.

When they played Providence this year they outshot them by quite a bit and ended up losing a tough game by two goals. Marquette had the ball almost the entire 4th quarter, but couldn't put the ball in the net. Should be a really good game Saturday.

We won the Big East Championship today beating Providence. We automatically qualified for the NCAA . That two years in a row.  They announcing the pairings Sunday evening . Hopefully we can host the first game .

We have zero chance of hosting a game. We were the four seed in the Big East tournament. By beating Denver we burst somebody's bubble. Without today's win we were never going to the tourney.
