Title: Stan Johnson, Assistant Coach
Post by: OldWarrior on May 22, 2015, 08:07:01 PM
I  did a short search to gain some insight into his coaching background.  Seems well liked and we'll prepared.  Anyone have additional information?

we'll prepared.

As long as he didn't have the scout for our game against them last year.  Though I doubt Wojo would have hired someone after such an error.

He was the only assistant coach retained from the old staff by Hurley.  Sorry, Bobby.

I'm thinking that Wojo is pissed at Travis for schooling him every day at noon in Kasten.

Welcome Stan.  Damn good name for a guy coming to Milwaukee.

I am not sure that Travis will want to be a full assistant as he has a very well paying gig now as well as a full bank account. Yet he doesn't have to be on the road chasing 16 year old kids. Time will tell. The life of an assistant is not that great.

Great thought.  Plus he has a young child at home.  You very well might be right.

Yep, Travis probably has the best of worlds right now and he is still doing what he loves...Basketball.

Tapping into the Southwest Recruiting, maybe that's the reason Hurley wanted him.

former point guard

Wouldn't he still be a point guard?

Someone recently said to me, "I hear you used to be a pilot..." I replied that I still am.

Coach Stan Johnson is a first class person and Coach.  Will do big things at Marquette.  One of best in business.  Will be head coach soon.

Oh no, not more potential staff turnover!

Emily Post has different thoughts on the matter, but according to Honor & Respect (http://www.formsofaddress.info/about.html), a TRUE former point guard must be addressed as "Your Over-35%-From-Three-Pointedness".

In fact it would not shock me if Travis is playing in Europe again next year.

Why can't ASU have any kind of program stability? An assistant coach left the program?! Red flags everywhere.

Hmm... that kind of makes coaching sound creepy.
I've been thinking about that alot since last weekend. A whole lot.
