Do these managers think this is the all-star game, giving each pitcher an inning?   This could go 20 innings.   Maybe Selig could call it a tie, send both teams to NY.

Can you believe this?  163rd game, tiebreaker, and it's TIED in the 8th inning.

If this goes extra innings, I suggest they play rock paper scissors and get it over with.

Edit: tied in the 9th, 10th each score a run to tie, play at the plate to send it to 11th.  Unreal, unreal.

What a game!
Yup, Raburn really messed up by letting the ball get by him to lead off the 10th, but he redeemed himself with his double play to end the inning.  Not sure how the ball got up the middle to tie it either, though.  Unbelievable game.

Congratulations to the Twins.    Well played.      Our lack of clutch hitting doomed us.    But Inge WAS hit by that pitch.     Ah, well.........

Amazing.  BRING ON THE YANKEES!  (you're right - Inge was definitely hit - whew, I'll take the non-call this time though)
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Ah, you wouldn't have wanted to win by a HBP.

No, I'm pretty sure I would have taken that run any way I could have gotten it.    Why Leyland sent Rodney out for a 4th inning is beyond me.    This is where all of the injuries took their toll.    He would rather try to wring a 4th inning from Rodney than go to Gallaraga, Bonderman, Ryan Perry, or Washburn.   Madness.     That was fun.    Lousy ending, but fun.

LOL

Sure you would...a win is a win.

That play in left field was the killer....but great game to watch.

Go Halos!!

Nah.  Winning by a HBP is like kissing your sister.  No one would respect you after that.  You gotta win by a nice base hit or something.  That's quality.

Winning by a bases loaded balk would be the only thing worse.

Hmm .. saw this quote:  For winning the division title, full-player shares from the postseason pool for the Twins are expected to be about $30,000. The runner-up Tigers can expect about $10,000 apiece.

Why would the 2nd place team get any share of a postseason pool?

---

Hah .. and this:

The past five days at the Metrodome, including Tuesday's Twins-Tigers game, the Vikings-Packers game and three Twins-Royals games, attracted nearly 260,000 spectators. Not a record, though; that belongs to the Billy Graham Crusade that attracted 349,000 spectators over five days in 1995.

However, the past five days did better in beer sales.

--

And this:

Return of the gougers: One parking lot near the Metrodome was charging $50 for the Vikings-Packers game. And people were paying it. Another lot was charging $25 for Tuesday's Twins-Tigers game.

oooh .. $50 is a bit steep .. but $25?  Doesn't the lot across from the BC charges that for Bucks games all the time?

Maybe the Tigers money comes from revenue from the one game playoff on TV?  I agree, that doesn't make sense but that's all I can think of.

Guys, it's strange, but the players' pool is based on 60% of the gate receipts from the first three games of the Division Series and 60% of the gate from the first four of the LCS and the World Series.

That pool is divided amongst *** 12 *** teams - the playoff teams AND the four regular season second-place teams that did not make the postseason.

So this year... Detroit, Texas, Florida and the Cubs are about to get PAID for post season gate receipts.  They should celebrate.  It will be approximately $10k per 'full share'.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

No one remembers how you got there, only that you got there and won the ring.  You take it anyway you can get it.
