Considering hoops is the biggest (only) real high profile sport at MU, if Crean donates this quietly, nobody notices. So to the Chicos out there, I see the criticism and possibly Crean's selfish side. On the other hand, MU knows that if they hold this presser, it gets their soccer program more coverage and it needs all the help it can get.Wow ... this may be the first time in human history that a charitable donation of $100,000 has been greeted with the characterization of the donor as "selfish".Some of you guys are just too funny.I haven't seen anybody on this board say it isn't extremely generous. It's the motivation for holding a press conference that people have questioned.

I think a MUSCOOP donation pool is a good idea.
Quote from: mu_hilltopper on June 28, 2007, 03:15:54 PMUm .. no.It was about the soccer stadium.Unfortunately Hilltopper, you are incorrect. Calling a press conference for this had nothing to do with the soccer stadium or Marquette, for that matter. A very nice gesture, but come on. Why does the media even need to know about it? I continue to be amazed.
Um .. no.It was about the soccer stadium.
Grow up PRN. Man up and shut the F up for once.
It's as if some other group of people that hated MU posted many posts in this thread. Some really pathetic posts and posters on these boards. There is more to Marquette than Men's basketball. And the purpose was to raise funds for an MU sport, and a nice donation from another sport's coach to help with the fund raising. Lots of trolls on the MU boards. Lots.
Quote from: mviale on June 28, 2007, 05:34:19 PMI think a MUSCOOP donation pool is a good idea.I can set that up easily if enough are interested. The only catch is, for us to accept the donation we'd have to go through a provider that would charge about 5% for each transaction. So the final amount going to MU would be ~5% less than the amount we received.
