I asked Seth on X and he said because Creighton has better metrics in 3 of 4 categories and he doesn’t know when Kolek will be back.  At least Fanta didn’t have Creighton in the top 10.

Fanta’s vote doesn’t matter. Seth Davis dropped us two spots. He also had Michigan State on his “almost famous” list despite losing 3 in a row. I think we’ll get a fair rank tomorrow. I think it will be 6 but Iowa State and UNC are right there also. Sucks but dropping a us a bit cause Kolek is hurt is reasonable.

UConn dropped from the top rated team to the bottom rated three loss team. Every other high major had at least 6 losses. Of course they didn't drop four spots.

I can't see us higher than 7, I think Arizona and Iowa State are locks to pass. I could see us falling as low as 11. We know that Kolek and Oso were missing and that the margin of victory Creighton had over us is misleading, but I don't trust all the voters to know that.

It still doesn't "matter," but I think this will be one of the more interesting weeks to observe Marquette's movement in the rankings.

We have gotten a lot of respect from voters this season (and deservedly so). But this loss under these circumstances to an ascending team - amid the backdrop of most teams around MU winning ... I have to admit I'm looking forward to seeing where voters think we stand.

The casual voters (and I would say 90% plus are casual) are going to look at the final score and not know we stood with CU for 35 minutes toe to toe.  Those 90% probably also have zero clue that Oso was out and a flu was going through the team. Heck, 50/50 chance those casuals don't even know Tyler was out. Because of this, I say 9-10 will be our ranking.

WOW, I thought our 3 spot drop was bad for a road loss at then #12 Creighton without our 2 best guys.

Kansas dropped 7 spots for losing at then #15 Baylor by 8 points!  In March no less, with 29 games in the books!

8 is just fine, especially given what everyone ranked near us did last week.

Points-wise, we're well behind #7 UNC and just barely ahead of #9 Duke, but well ahead of #10 Creighton. Indeed, we're closer to UNC than to Creighton.

It's also nice to see three BEast teams in the top 10, and deservedly so IMHO.

Still getting plenty of respect from voters.

Yep. And I thought this week's results would be particularly interesting to see given all that transpired.

I'm more than willing to rip clueless voters out there - and there are always some - but I'll also give credit for what they collectively have done this season, at least as far as Marquette is concerned.
