More fantastic news.  Shaka’s first month has been an incredible success.

Used to be at Michigan under Belien.  Was a finalist for the head job at Eastern Michigan.  Midwest guy.  Considered a very good recruiter.  IMO this is a great hire.

Boom. This is a great hire.

I'll probably do a bigger write up, but Haynes is exactly what Shaka is looking for. Not just as a coach, who is known for developing guards like Zavier Simpson & Anthony Cowan, or for his experience working with John Beilein & Mark Turgeon, but because of how he builds relationships. Haynes philosophies and the things his players say about him sound like they could just as easily be in reference to Smart. This is a great hire that fits the culture and trajectory of the program perfectly.

Also an amazing person (see the Charles Matthews story re: flying with him to his grandmothers funeral). Has been credited in the past with helping develop the games of guards such as Tyler Poole, Zavier Simpson and Anthony Cowen.

Huge get for us.

How does this work with the Jockey sponsorship?

Seems like a great hire for a coach. Honestly, one we might not have very long as he seems to be knocking on the door for head coaching jobs.

A great story on Haynes if you want to hear about how he connects with players. VERY amped about this hire.

A buddy texted me a screenshot of Evan Flood's post on a Badger forum saying he's hearing serious rumors about Baldwin, Sr. joining the Marquette staff timestamped from 5 minutes ago.  Great inside information Evan.

Does this make Morsell more likely?

Now I gotta pay?

I got a higher thread count, so I'm ready to take him on. Plus, he relies on chumps like MJ .
