Larry Sanders being bought out of his contract

Now he can smoke his green in peace.  As a bucks fan this is pretty frustrating even more so then Joe Alexander and YI Jianlian.  He showed a lot of potential two seasons ago and I had very high hopes for him.  Too bad maybe he'll figure it out on another team.

"Larry Sanders being bought out of his contract"...Hey now!

My recollection is that Larry Sanders retired from his late night TV talk show after ongoing battles with network executives....it was in the one hour series finale.

Hey now!
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

It's done.  Good riddance loser.  He'll forever be a loser.  He's got his millions still, the Bucks still are paying him upwards of $15M in the buyout agreement. There's no reason he'll feel compelled to turn his life around for the better.

Gotta love the fantasy world of pro sports. Totally f#ck up...screw over your employer...and still collect millions just to go away.

Must be nice.

At the same time his agent has to be a complete idiot, or the Bucks had something legally on Sanders that they dangled out so Larry would accept a buyout.  NBA contracts are guaranteed.  Simply show up and you get your $44 million regardless of whether you actually do anything worth it or not.

That's what you get for deciding to build a franchise around a guy who wasn't even welcome back to VCU had he wanted to return.  He had already shown plenty of signs of trouble and to be honest wasn't even a very good basketball player.  Good defender and rebounder who was somewhat effective because he was just active.  But a complete punk.  Sorry, you don't pay that guy $44 million.  Heck, even if he was an angel his play never warranted $44 million.

No offense to Juan, but it'd be like Marquette having decided 2 years ago to build the program around Juan, but adding in that Juan's attitude was that of Delgado from Seton Hall.
