Beat Butler
« on: February 18, 2019, 10:05:24 AM »
A lot of talk about our chances at Nova 9 days and 3 games from now.  Doesn't mean anything if we do not take care of business on our home court on Wednesday. The last time we had a home game after a weekend off we came out sleeping for the first 25 minutes and couldn't complete the comeback.  We smoked Butler at their place, but if Butler gets a win at Marquette they're looking really good for an NCAA Tournament bid.  Hoping Markus comes out early with a killer mentality and breaks their will with the game at Hinkle in the back of their minds.

Contain Baldwin and Tucker.  Looking for a big game from the Hausers.

Biggest game of the year.

Butler won't shoot as poorly as they did last game. But now we have homecourt and I think it's a good matchup for MU. Expecting a 8-10 point win.

I don't know about you, but winning at Nova will still mean something to me irregardless of how we do against Butler.

If we lose to butler and beat nova aren't we still ahead of them? That's three losses each but we have the sweep

Me too.

Otherwise, I hereby pledge to do everything within my power to beat Butler and Providence before our heroes take on Nova.

I believe I am doing just that right now. I also believe wades is doing everything in his power, too. And so are you, TAMU.

Yep. Which is the why the whole "the next game is always the biggest game" schtick just doesn't make sense. For fans anyway.

Yeah it would be massively disappointing to lose to Butler.

But if we can find a way to win at Nova, that game is gonna be sweet regardless

My only concern with the Butler game was MU’s long layoff.

One would think, that if one were calling out another's grammar, one would use apostrophes where applicable.

This. I have more concerns than that but the weeklong hiatus is definitely up near the top.

Another main concern is Butler being squarely on the bubble and needing a signature win to get over the hump- St. John’s, SH, Florida their only decent wins. Still have @Nova after MU so hopefully they are even more in need of a signature win after Wednesday

I've been called many things in my lifetime, an academic is a first for me.

And all I know is that Scoop's spellcheck suggested it so if it is good enough for Scoop it is good enough for me!

There is a causal relationship between fan turnout and enthusiasm and a Teams ability to overcome adversity and persevere in crunchtime...as well as somewhat demoralize opposing teams in specific crucial situations.

its a muted influence but can make a difference.

Is irregardless a word? It sure as hell is.

Not worried about Butler.  Worried very much about at Seton Hall...that's the game that I think bites us in the rear end.

This guy gets it.  The stadium was far less than rocking for a team that had beat us by 20 for our only BE loss the last time we were coming off of a long layoff.  And the team played the way the fans treated the game up until 15:00 left in the game.  Hopefully there is more energy Wednesday night.

And let’s make sure the student seat tarps are not in use...

I am just adding that a MU win would represent Wojo’s highest BE total.
