I would defer to anyone with superior info, but I seem to recall creds being shared evenly between the C7 schools and the three new schools would not be eligible for equal credit shares for X amount of years.  I can't remember where I heard or read that.
The C7 each kept their own NCAA credits from the Old Big East. New Big East has an asymmetrical sharing model that gives more to the teams that win the shares and less to the ones that don't . Still good for us.

If you would have said Xavier would be the only BE team in sweet 16 i'd have said you're nuts. Well better than the 0 last year. Honestly pretty disappointed in league tourney play.

Only one team advancing is not a good showing. Pundits proved correct, unfortunately.

Posting on another team's message board at 11:30 on a Saturday night. Why aren't I surprised that you don't seem to have anything better to do?

Agree completely, and I said when a few were crowing about getting 6 teams in the dance, they better do something with it.  And they didn't.

I will say this though, this tournament is so much predicated on matchups and draws.  I know I'm by no means the first to say that, but it's an understated truth.  What does it say based on regular season results that Xavier, the one that was .500 in conference play, is the lone Big East team standing?  Not to make excuses for Villanova, but they played like a #1 seed with all the pressures that carries.  They looked very tight last night, start to finish. How many games out of a 100 are they going to shoot that poorly as a team?  Very few, and NC State played like a team with nothing to lose.

All the craziness of this tournament, which of course is the beauty of it too and why it brings casual and non- college basketball fans in this time of year.

Oh well, not the end of the world.  It's only year two of the reconfigured league.

And recruiting.

Hey kid, how would you like to play against the likes of UConn, Syracuse, and Louisville?

Only consolation is that the Big 12 crapped the bed too.  Granted they have 2 instead of 1 team in the Sweet Sixteen but they wildly underperformed as well.  ACC is looking like the BMOC
