During softball, I had a conversation with some other guys on if it's better to buy season tickets or just grab all these mini plans.

With the mini packages, be a student, and then the other random promotions I'm beginning to think I'm losing value buying season tickets.

Depends if you care about the quality of the seat.

Fiserv doesn't really have bad seats. Can't beat $20 for lower level seats against big east competition.

It's (not) funny to think back to the Bradley Center days when the only way to sit in the lower bowl was to have season tickets.  Priority points meant something, as you crept from the end-zone to the corners, to maybe 15 years later, a center section.

And you sat through 7-8-9 home cupcakes because you just had to pay for those to get the legit games.

Now?  There are center section seats that go unsold to STHs, meaning if you're willing to part with the cash, you can sit in almost any section with zero "points."

Or forget the whole thing and buy mini plans, singles, flash sales, student sales, no cupcakes.

Never would have thought that MU moving into the Fiserv would demolish season ticket value/priority point value so quickly.  (Wojo and Covid helped, yes.)

At the BC, only 1/2 of the seats were in the lower bowl. At Fiserv, 3/4 of the building’s seats are in the lower bowl.
As some say….there are no bad seats at the Fiserv.
However there are huge differences between Sec 114 and 116. But if one thinks it doesn’t matter because they are both in the lower bowl….more power to you.
Additionally, in the center sections, big differences between Row 15 and Row 25.
If these differences are acceptable to you, then maybe you should buy $20 seats in Sec 114 Row 25 and claim that you got lower bowl seats without buying season tickets.
I agree that due to covid, numbers are and will continue to be down.

I canceled my tickets after Buzz’s last year. Had nothing to do with where I thought program was heading. It was due to years and years of brutal non-con schedules coupled with price increases where we were slowly being pushed from the center sections to the closer to the corners.

I mean look at these garbage non-con slates in Buzz’s last 2 years (some years were even worse):

Houston Christian
Chicago State
UW-Milwaukee
Texas Southern
Central Michigan
Wisconsin
Purdue-Fort Wayne
Western Carolina
Presbyterian

Centenary
Maryland Eastern Shore
Grambling
South Dakota
NC State
UW-Milwaukee
North Florida
Presbyterian

Now I just Ticketmaster the games I want to go to and it’s worked out wonderfully.

To add though, the UCONN promo sounds like a good deal and hope it’s a good crowd for that one. Someone may need to fire up the selloutuconn.com domain from years ago.

Are there really a significant number of people who are still not going to basketball games because of Covid?

I mean, I still see some masks when I go out, but I don't know anyone who doesn't go out at all because of it.

I think Covid has caused people to reevaluate whether or not they want to spend time going to basketball games - or any other event. "Hey we went without it for a year or so, and we really didn't miss it. Why go back?"

But I think the number of people who aren't going due to Covid-worry is pretty slim.

See Sultan’s response. I meant they aren’t coming back. They survived without it…..bought an 80” tv and are good.

Me and a buddy snagged lower bowl seats for the UConn game for $20 a pop. Hard to beat.

The benefit of having season tickets is that it forces you to attend more games than you otherwise would. But there really is no need for them when you can grab solid tickets through these type of promos. Hopefully we soon get to a place where MU doesn’t need to run them, although I’ll then have to reevaluate whether to invest in season tickets again.
