SI - Glockner on Bubble

IN THE MIX

Marquette (18-11, 9-7; RPI: 53, SOS: 30)
That's all it took? I just needed to show up and your luck instantly turns? Had you mentioned this 15 months ago, there would have been a lot less stress. After winning at UConn in OT and pasting Providence, TBW continues to trend exactly as Bubble Watch expected. Can it close out another 11-7 campaign by taking out Cincy in a bubble battle and then winning at Seton Hall?
GW: at UConn, plus a trio of good home league wins (WV, ND, Syracuse).
BL: None, but 11 of them.

He also has us and Cincinnati listed as 10 seeds in his pool.  And also has BYU as a number one seed (which makes me think this is the year for a #1 to get knocked off).  So take it for what it's worth.

Why does he refer to us as "TBW?"

BYU is a solid team. Shutting down Jimmer Fredette is the key to beating them. If someone can do that, then there is a good chance that they might fall early.

Even shutting him down though hasn't proved to be a for sure thing.  His shooting percentage vs. SDSU this weekend was horrible.  But even when he can't shoot, he just keeps shooting.  Making sure they are 1 and done each trip down I think would make a big difference

I love that Glockner, for some strange reason, has adopted Marquette as one of his teams.  However, here is to vacating the position as #TBW next year.

Speaking of practicing FTs, I was surprised that when Keno got T'd up at the end of the Providence game that Buzz called Fulce off of the bench to shoot the free throws.  I wouldn't have guessed that Fulce was the guy that Buzz considers the gutsiest on the team.  That's quite the compliment for a guy that ends up missing practice time and not playing much because of his knee!

Fulce is perfect for the year on FTs.  11-11.  Eat that, Novak.

Buzz has also said several times that Fulce is the best shooter on the team.

Not only was I surprised...I didn't know that was legal! You can bring guys from the bench to shoot technicals? Since when?

He certainly seems to have free reign to launch away while he's on the court.

He was brought off the bench according to Stat Sheet.  He subbed in at 13:18...the same time as the free throws.  Maybe they allow him in if he is already at the scorer's table?
