For those of you in Illinois do you plan to see/experience the Eclipse this August. Looks like Carbondale is a peek location. Any science clubs at MU going?

For one tiny little glimpse? Why would people travel for that?

My daughter goes to Mizzou and we were planning to visit sometime this summer, so we plan to time our visit with the eclipse.  Columbia is right at the center of the path.

Hoping for a clear day.  I'd hate to have traveled just for the eclipse if it's really cloudy or stormy, but we'll have a nice visit with our daughter in either case.

If you click on the map it tells what percentage of the eclipse that you can see from that point.
Surprised to see Connecticut says 68% obscured since it's far away from the centerline.

My office neighbor says Ozzy Ozbourne is playing a show in Illinois that's supposed to coincide as the same time as the eclipse.

That's correct. He is. My son and daughter both go to SIU-Carbondale.

We'll be there the week before but miss the eclipse.

The entire region has been gearing up for the eclipse for a couple of years. SIU is the academic center of study of the eclipse.

I believe Ozzy is playing at Walkers Bluff in Carterville.

Get a view of the eclipse from the top of Monk's Mound in Cahokia.
