Can we please stop forever the threads about Buzz needing to use practice time for FT's?

Vander has drastically improved at the line since conference play has started.

Would you also think that giving 95.7% effort is acceptable?!?

And several of those free throws were in big pressure moments at the end of games.

Seems like Vander hitting the four free throws at the end of the 'nova game gave him a huge confidence boost at the line and everywhere else on the court.

I'm kind of playing the troll here when I say this, but the DePaul crowd didn't seem like much of a factor especially since you could see empty seats behind the glass while standing from the line. Agree maybe a little?

And yes, I was one of those who has criticized FT shooting so it's nice to see that it has improved.

Hummmm maybe in the first half, but the student section (yeah it's tiny) and band were behind the hoop in the second half.

I don't understand why they ever miss a FT.  They're free.  Take them, make them.  Until they continually make them all, Buzz should be spending time practicing FT's.  No doubt.  Stand beneath the basket like a referee, blow the whistle and give them the ball.  That is the only way they will get better.  Missing one yesterday?  That's pathetic!

I'd have to say it got equally as loud for both teams.  DePaul early, then Marquette, and a little DePaul near the end when they cut the lead to single digits.  But mostly Marquette.

Crowder was only 3 of 4.  He should spend every practice at the free throw line until Saturday.

The leader of the band that roasted Buzz for not taking practice time to practice free throws has been banned.  ( intended)

You see when he was at Indiana the Hoosiers were out practicing free throws wilst Bobby was not even giving him the pleasure of a reach around.

Well, and Murff.

My favorite part of those threads were the psuedo-coaches on here giving Buzz ideas on how he should practice free throws.

Hey, all the free throw shooting practice paid off!  Now we need to work finishing close shots with dunks instead of toss ups.

That's just it, right?

There's always something that will frustrate. MU will have a game this season where they shoot 11-20 on FTs and lose by two points. Do we then ignore the impact it had on the game?

As for the bunnies, that's unbelievable. Conservatively, they left 10 points on the court in first half against ND. It was so stunning even the Irish fans in the crowd felt bad by the third of fourth time it happened.

Of course, the biggest culprits were two guys who have eight buckets between them all season before that game so grain of salt I guess.

22 of 23 is impressive, but I've been told that Tom Crean teaches free throws better than Buzz does.

Then the whole team needs to take some growth hormones so that they can more easily dunk from a standstill in traffic.    We're shorter than other teams.   Sometimes it shows up on putbacks and layups.   Obscure concept, I know.     And yes, there will be games when we shoot poorly from the line and it impacts the game.   No team is immune to that.    What is the team % for the year?

71.2...96th in the country.  And looking at the list, there doesn't seem to be a correlation between FT% and ranking.
