Villanova's Final Four doesn't belong to MU.

I'm pretty sure we are hanging a banner

No Big Ten in the elite 8 and a Big East team in the final four. This tourney is already a huge success for the Big East.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — This is a triumph for Villanova basketball, obviously. The Wildcats bore the majority of the load in this circumstance, the majority of the pressure and the expectation and the criticism. This Final Four belongs to them. Just not exclusively.

It belongs in some small way to Philadelphia, a city that has remained devoted to its basketball community, the Big Five, for longer than many similar towns would have bothered.

It belongs to those who understand the appeal of football but don’t believe it is the only collegiate athletic endeavor worthy of interest and attention.

And it belongs to all of Villanova’s brothers and sisters in the Big East. The new Big East.*The commissioner of that conference, Val Ackerman, was courtside Saturday night at KFC Yum! Center, a couple rows behind the Wildcats’ bench and one behind Danny Gavitt, whose father founded the league that now is populated exclusively by private schools — that do not field BCS football team — from Providence to Omaha.*The Big East

Very nice sentiments.  Congrats, VU!

My wife would too, because she'd win the (for entertainment purposes only) MUScoop bracket challenge.

Is your wife hnoel78? Because if so, its down to me and her. If Villanova wins, she wins. If Oklahoma wins, I win.

Despite that, I'll be cheering hard for Nova. But nice to know I have the consolation prize of beating a bunch of random people on the internet I know from a chat board at a competition that is basically predicting a crapshoot...with a prize of zero dollars.

"Dope?" Not sure if this directed to me, but my "glory" reference was intended as an ironic comment on the horrific images being shown as I listen to the words "Glory, glory, hallelujah" on Easter Sunday.  In no way was I questioning anything related to the BE, or basketball in general, for that matter.  I guess I should have made that clearer.  Sorry.

I think he probably said "dope" as in "that's dope" to mean "that's cool." Apparently that is a thing that people say now.

Glad to see Nova in.  They were my #2 school of all the schools I was accepted to.

I caught up w/ Roxanne Chalifoux, Villanova's crying piccolo girl, a year later. Smiling now & headed to Houston: http://usat.ly/1MwtsJn

I think you've gone beyond mere "meme" status if they make a bobble head out of you.

Not only has she gone beyond meme, I think I saw at least six different tourney games this year where a band member was crying.  She's like the frinkin' Slender Man or whatever the kids are imitating in droves these days.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
