Kolek planning to go pro
One comment was that he "handled the ball like like it was a tangerine.”
It’s kind of crazy how not a single player had a good game today. Like everyone was bad
Very simple... we’ve got no 3 point shooting. The future formula to beat us has been revealed; just play zone and rebound the bricks. Poor Garcia.
Folks get tired of rants against Wojo, but what happened in this game is a multi-game annual occurrence. 15-0 runs. No answer for a zone. Players seemingly unenthused. And, it would appear, the roster is once again unbalanced as outside shooting is suspect. Wojo has recruited some nice players during his time at MU, but never a cohesive team. I anticipate a better effort on Friday, but the result will be another L to RED.
I am of two minds. The team has all new pieces and very little time together b/c of COVID--so there is a rational out. However, because of the coaching track record, I am not sure that it's a good excuse. The fact we have seen this movie over and over again clearly keeps building frustration. Plus the rotations, the use of our skillsets and the fact we were trying to dibble through a zone for 15 mins was just so wrong. Instead of 'hey they haven't worked on this' it looked like 'we have no idea what to do and are receiving poor direction'.
Early season hoops has its painful moments and teams will suck on occasion. Last night we saw what has been painfully often for awhile. Is it a single occurrence or will the team grow from it and improve? No one expects an undefeated season, many teams MU will play are better. But playing lost and confused repeatedly is simply bad coaching and an abuse of player’s talent that they have entrusted with MU.Many of us are tired of the same problems demonstrated year after year and nervously await that they finally improve.
Your words are perfect! Fans are upset with Wojo's failures but it is easy to forget that the players are really the ones he let down. They get a lot of the blame and have a right to good coaching. I have always believed that an entire team cannot fail in unison. Whether the team is Marquette or Hicksville College is irrelevant. A so-called team wide failure is simply a cover story for bad coaching.
