Watching the Georgetown game and saw some "We Are Georgetown" shirts with the classic Hoya in the center.
Anyone know anybody who can make gold w/navy print or navy with gold print of a similar theme but "We Are Marquette" with the NEWER Golden Eagle or the Warrior in the center?
I'd be interested...
-
you like the chicken?
-
you like the chicken?
it's what we got now...but it'd be my preference: warriors>new chicken>first chicken
-
The chicken isn't really our logo anymore. It's on a few shirts but most places have the MU now.
And for some reason the visitor's bench has the old Golden Eagle logo circa 2003. I still don't get that one unless they get our team's hand-me-downs?
-
I got a We Are Marquette tshirt from the alumni assoc. had the new lettering and the monogram, no chicken present.
-
This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but it works. Take it to any t-shirt screen printer and they might be able to make what you are looking for. Or you can make a not so high quality one by purchasing a cheap t-shirt and a cheap printable / iron on screen from Target.
I will warn you that the resolution is terrible when you try to blow up the picture. I am sure someone with more time can figure out how to fix that.

in case any intrepid entrepeneur out there needed more encouragement, i would be a consumer of warrior printed gear. i'd probably stock up and never buy another xmas gift again.
-
Some enterprising person could make money producing MU gear in gold if they could get around the licensing stuff. I went to the spirit shop for some presents before Christmas and literally 90% of the merchandise is blue or a color other than gold, ended up buying a Lands End fleece as a better alternative.
-
Go to Custom Ink: http://www.customink.com/
They have a great gold t-shirt, and it's really easy to upload your design. I used it to print some Warriors shirts a few years back.

I seem to recall hearing someone say on this board a while ago that MU let the trademark on the Warrior lapse, so if you were doing the Warrior thing and not the MU logo thing there wouldn't be a licensing issue.
-
I'm reopening a thread that's over a month old here, I know... but I just tripped across this discussion and thought I'd chime in anyways. I've lived in Milwaukee all my life and miss the old Marquette Warriors logo. It just so happens I print t-shirts and it also just happens I was actually planning on printing the Warriors design. I personally prefer the blue shirt with a yellow graphic because it's a bit easier to wash out the pizza sauce, but I'll likely be doing both color schemes.
Would anyone here be interested?

FOLLOW UP to the last post I made just a few minutes ago.
I might also possibly consider printing one of the older Warrior logos if I thought it might be worth the extra time to get it all done. Same goes for doing hoodies.
Warrior hoodies perhaps?

PUT THE WARRIOR ON AS THE LOGO!!!!!

I was at Sobelmans a little while ago and they were selling Warrior hoodies...not sure how much they cost though.

WOW - I have never seen that page before, the proposed logos for the Gold nickname are hideous - that just adds to the debacle even more.

I was thinking the first logo looked like "Towely" from South Park, or maybe his gold colored cousin.
-
Is that seriously what the Gold logo was going to look like?
If so, then MU deserves every bit of ridicule that talk radio gives their PR dept.
My favorite is that Warrior logo where the indian is crouching down.
-
the University contacted me(one of many,I'm sure) with my reaction to the Gold.
I told them it was the lamest thing I had ever heard and would disown MU if they ever changed mascot to something like that. My suggestion was change the Warrior to a Eurpoean if there was that much of a stink.
The mascott looks like a piece of cheese or a towel like someone mentioned. How embarassing to even have that considered

LOL no, those weren't official at all. I know "Bricky" was created by MU_Chi-Il (http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?action=profile;u=287), but I don't remember who plastered a gold blob over Diener...might have been MU_Chi-Il too.
This might help too...though the image links don't all work...

I am bricky's father and I can happily say that he is doing well. After the whole

Lemme know
yes to all of them. My whole familiy and extended family would LOVE quality warrior gear!
-
The recent Warriors logo is practically a must. As for the older ones. I'd be game to print the one that looked to precede the last design... the one with the same 'looking to the left, profile' design with Warriors in Script.
Also, I'm diggin' the other retro "charging warrior", the one where he's leaning forward with Tomahawk raised overhead.
I'll throw together a couple of mock-ups and post them on here as soon as they're ready, give it a day maybe... maybe less.

I like the second one - a bit faded, but not too bad.

I prefer no fading. It's like pre-ripped jeans.

If memory serves, the "gold blob" was a creation of the Journal-Sentinel Photoshop Department... shortly after announcement, a story ran on JSOnline... forget if it was Mike Hunt or one of the editors (it wasn't a Rosiak story), but the article was ripping the decision (tactfully) and included that tongue-in-cheek graphic.

I can't believe, once again Mike Hunt rears his head around here. Whenever something shady goes down, Mike Hunt is never far away. I don't trust Mike Hunt, nor will I ever.

What about a shirt with just "Marquette Warriors"? No Indian. Maybe alternative mascot? Just throwing it out there. Trying to avoid the PC crowd coming back with, "See, we told you the name and Indian couldn't be separated."

Nope, no giving in to the PC crowd. The nickname is gone, might as well be as un-PC as possible!

The issue, I have with t-shirt is that it is just a generic indian. Get the actual logo, and I will buy.
-
Sit tight for just a bit, I WILL have the other Marquette Warriors logos posted up today in this thread, as mock-ups.
-
I'm in for both a t-shirt and hoodie if this becomes a reality!
I'd love the crouching Warrior, too. When was that the logo?

I would be down for the yellow 'warriors' one and possibly a We Are Marquette shirt/hoodie.
Nice work aequitas321!
-
Big +1 on the blue one. When will they be ready for ordering?
-
IMHO, the crouching Indian and the Indian swinging the tomahawk are the best logos. I'm guessing that the crouching design was the logo in the late 60s-early 70s. The swinging tomahawk was the logo during the mid to late 70s, Al's final years, including of course 1977. I think the final Indian logo from the late 80s/early 90s was already PC-ed up a bit to make it appear more distinguished. Obviously, still a zillion times better than the Golden Eagle b.s. But I'd like to see and would absolutely buy t-shirts with the logo from the golden years, either the 60s or 70s.
-
FWIW, you might want to watch using the word "Marquette" with the Indian logos. Because they let the trademark lapse, you can use the warrior head, and even print the word warriors on the shirt without issues. But, if you include they word Marquette, they can come after you and shut you down.
Don't know if they will, but worth noting.
-
Warriors
Forever!!
Please let me know when these are available..I've been trying to get one for a few years....would love to have!
-
I always liked the "Marquette Warriors" hoodies that had a basketball net on the front.
-
mu-rara -- his avatar is the Warrior logo we need on a T-shirt!

Here's the first set of t-shirt mockups with the logo we all know.....
...hoodie mockups to come real soon!

Either of these is great. Though I like the one in my avatar best.
-
Will the crouching indian be an option?
I've got a number of people really interested in buying some.
-
How goes it....
The crouching/charging Indian should be done soon too. I definitely plan on printing one of those up. What do you guys think of the colors? I like the logo a lot, but what do you guys think would be a good color/combination? Should I stick with the same colors or...? And if I stick with the same colors, what color shirt would you guys think it would look best on? I only ask because if the colors remain as are, how would you like to go about incorporating some school colors in it?
As far as the other design with the 'sweeping tomahawk'... my initial thought was that it didn't resemble much in terms of a school mascot/logo, but more of a beer bottle wrapper or car-wash signage. Nonetheless, printing it wouldn't be a problem. Just be patient with that one, it'll come soon enough.
As for the rest of the shirts so far, I'll let you guys all know as SOON as they're ready and actually *for sale*
:)

Surely. I have considered this. If they don't like that someone is selling "Marquette" shirts then I'll just stop and look for another way to sell a Warrior shirt, something more generic maybe.
-
Just checked ebay and found these ones at www.marquette-warriors.com.

This is the best wesbite I've seen for Warriors shirts, although they don't say Marquette.

You can find a similar shirt here:

I've ordered shirts from the site before -- great service, quick shipping, and relatively low prices. They have some other great shirts for a Brewers or Packers fan, too.

*Update*
This has been my day... We're staying up late to get this page done. The crouching logo may not be up for sale initially, but keep checking back here over the next day or so... it will be there.
All designs are on American Apparel. It's the only brand we have and we believe they are second to none. If you haven't ever owned an AA shirt, you'll soon see why they cost $16-$20 retail for a blank shirt. If you have owned or do own one, you know they're worth the extra couple bucks.
We plan on selling these shirts for $20(FREE SHIPPING TO U.S.) I know some of you may balk at the price, but I assure you they'll be the best quality shirt with an awesome print, and cost less than the other guys for what you're getting... and we have more Warrior designs .. and will be offering even more very soon :)

Considering how much time I've spent on this and how much of a stake I have in this... I'd love for the shirt to sell well enough to come down there to a game or some other type of function and freely hand out a bunch of these things. I just love the Warriors logos and really find it disappointing when a school/team does away with such beloved designs and mascots just to be replaced by new unloved/inferior 'it'll do' logos.
I can't wait to have a Warriors shirt of my own to wear around town.
Link(s) coming in T- minus......

Do you think you'll have any long sleeve t-shirts? They look great.

Just ordered one. Thanks for pulling this together!
Be sure to let us know when the other designs are ready... i'll be sure to place another order.

Will the hoodies be available soon also?
Thanks, for all the hard work!

These are excellent.

Are they of the thin cotton variety or thick Hanes cotton?
Thanks

Just checked ebay and found these ones at www.marquette-warriors.com.
I'm pretty sure that the Warrior they use on that shirt didn't exist until the 80's. Un-authentic.

Ordered one as well. Thank you for your efforts.

What's the best way of ensuring delivery in time for Thursday's game (other than going back in time)?
I'll be ordering a his and hers either way

Blue "We Are Marquette" and Gold "Marquette Warriors" purchased.
Thanks again, aequitas!

Ok... I just got home from work a few minutes ago. I'll be looking over all these questions and answering them in the coming half hour or so. But before I do, I'd just like to express my appreciation for the praise for getting the page up.
The one thing that I would like to address immediately though is that the question of whether or not they'll be delivered in time for Thursday's "Gold Out" that I saw some of you guys talking about in another thread..... I really wish I would have found this page earlier.
I'll be back in just a little while... it's been quite a long day, but I will be back to answer everything else right after I get some eats.
-
Prior to this thread reaching 3-4 pages, I didn't think to open it because I assumed it would lead to some useless link.
I was absolutely wrong. These things are awesome. Ordering mine tonight.
-
Hey, an old customer of mine emailed me a link to this thread. I see someone already posted a link, but my site does have a MU Warriors shirt for those interested:
http://www.theshirtalert.com/wisconsin-sports-shirts.html
I run The Shirt Alert with the help of a few other MU alumni and we wanted to get a few other Marquette shirts up this season but things got pretty busy around Christmas. The one Warriors shirt we have can be ordered as a tshirt, long sleeve, or hoodie. Shirts are only $18 with free shipping on all orders. We do our best with customer service and haven't had too many complaints. Most of our customers keep coming back and even refer us more business as evidence by the posts in this thread already.
Let me know if you guys have any questions and I will be happy to answer them.
-
Ok... to answer some questions that should be posted up on the 'purchase' page by some time tonight.
As far as shirts being delivered by THURSDAY evening's game against Pitt, I wish it were possible however with such a small time window, getting these in your hands by then is incredibly doubtful.
LONG SLEEVES.... I just looked into that. One option at the moment is available for long sleeved American Apparel. They would be organic fine jersey all cotton, though would only be available in blue and only as a unisex fit. They're 3 bucks more than the short sleeve t-shirts we've got posted now. We would surely consider offering this if you guys want them.
HOODIES... Here's my thinking on the hoodies. So far everything is American Apparel. The hoodies however, would not be. It's fair to say that Hanes, Gildan, Anvil and such, all make warmer hooded sweatshirts. These will also be posted soon as well. Maybe not in the next day or so, but you won't have to wait long.
ALTERNATE 'Warrior' Design(s)... As with the hoodies, they'll be included on our page soon also. Also, maybe not in the next day or so, but not long from now.
Bookmark the page and check back each day or two, you'll notice new items before long, and not exclusively Warriors stuff soon enough.
Again, we thank all of you for having us as guests in your forum. This has all been somewhat of a 'shotgun wedding' of sorts, for a couple of local kids attempting to make the switch from punching a clock to becomining self sustained.
See you all real soon!
-
My thoughts:
Get a Hoodie that doesn't have metal grommets. Those thing suck and rip open the fabric.
Long-sleeve is a GO. There aren't any long sleeve shirts with MU on them that's worth buying. The last time I bought a NICE MU long sleeve was the CUSA and Big East branded long sleeves.
Alternate Indians are A MUST!!!
Thanks for doing this!

Just want to make sure before I order...if I normally wear an XL, I should buy an XXL, right?
I would just check the size chart - it was helpful - if you are between sizes go to the larger one. I'm a 42-44 chest and a 36 waist and went with an XL.
Also, I second the idea from somebody earlier on the board about a hoodie with no metal.

Ordered two! If they're awesome, I'm coming back for 2x more! :D

The wifey and I got two for ourselves. Thanks for your hard work :)

If so, well played.

I'm not exactly sure just what this means, but I'm here to respond as thorough as possible.
The t-shirt company that was mentioned in a response earlier today is exactly who found MUScoop about a week or so ago, when looking around for nice Warriors logos. How many around these parts ever saw or heard of the website that is co-hosted with rendershirts.com/scoop? My guess is none....
BACKGROUND... We're two brothers who have strong roots in Milwaukee. We were born here and have a great deal of appreciation for and love of Milwaukee's history. If our parents or teachers or co-workers didn't or couldn't hit on subjects and skills that we took interest in, we taught ourselves. The only thing that's always been missing is something of our own..... hence, the website. The problem with t-shirt sites these days is that the internet is completely over-saturated to the point of making it virtually impossible for customers to find newer sites like ours unless they're already established and already have a path beaten to their doorway. The only other alternative is pumping some money into marketing. In addition to what I said before about our current regular employment, our combined income pays for what we need, a few bucks goes into the practically unseen business, and not much else. By no means is this some shrewd scheme to scam anyone out of their dream of owning the Warriors shirt they always wanted :P nor is any of this last week of hard work 'off the clock' or this message even, a cry for help or a ploy to gain by means of sympathy. If anything, just give us the time to instill a little faith and prove our intentions are good. We're decent kids with humble dreams of our own.
1- Overall this has been a pretty cool experience and we definitely feel we've built something of a kinship with the folks here at MUScoop.
2- The chance encounter between ourselves and MUScoop, albeit a little late in the basketball season, seemed like the perfect match. There's demand stated here in just this thread alone... for what we already had intentions of offering.
3- If anyone is the slightest concerned about our intentions or questions loom about whether or not orders will be honored or....(?) ...whatever thoughts may cause any concern, have no worries. We are real and our intentions are 100% as we've said all along.
All orders will be filled in the order they are placed. To elaborate on that a bit, from initial purchase date, it should take 7-10 days to have shirt(s) in hand. If you are for any reason unhappy with your order, please contact us. We strive for 100% satisfaction.
By the way, one or both of us are thinking we'll head out to either the Louisville or Notre Dame game at the BC in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll see a shirt or two at the game.
See you around!

Bump.
To my prior comment about this being an elaborate scam, I was just joshing, and I failed at that :P
Looking forward to getting my shirts early next week!

A gold shirt it is...
Thanks guys.

Other suggestions (sorry if they've been mentioned already):
1)Kids sizes?! (My kids already told me to buy them one)
2)"Marquette Warriors" tees without logo. Not necessarily for me but some people may want to wear the name but not the logo.
Thanks!
-
on the long sleeve shirt, can you put something down one of the sleeves, like:
We are Marquette!
or
Marquette Warriors

Yuk. (to the writing down the sleeves)
I bought the old gold Warrior. I'll wear it to the Loserville game if I have it by then.

don't buy it then. that's why there's apple pie and cherry pie.

Lighthouse 84 -- Do you happen to know when your avatar was the MU athletic teams logo? I'm guessing sometime in the 60s until the mid-70s or so. Just wondering.
-
Anybody else notice that numerous of aequitas321's posts were edited? Also, I can't seem to find the link to the website. Did the Marquette police come a calling?

I don't. But I'd agree with you on your guess.

Thanks Lighthouse84!

Any updates on the hoodies or older logo shirts? Aequitas321, what kind of time frame on those? I'd like to purchase all at once if possible
-
The older logos, and hoodies, and long sleeves aren't up yet and regrettably will take about 9 days to be posted. Sorry it's taken so long, I know in an earlier post I said they would be up sooner, but a very well in advance trip was planned for the bro and he won't be back until then and we just couldn't get it done in time. But we talked it out yesterday and it's the first thing that gets done when he gets back. Wait 'til then to order if it works better for ya, no rush.
As far as the Indian and what's on his head... I can't tell you exactly what it is, but I've always thought the same thing. The lock of hair down the side of his head and the almost 'helmet-esque' thing on his head really reminds me of a Vikings logo too... but more unique, I think. Honestly, my best guess is that whoever designed this intended for it to look like a fox.... which it does, but I can't attest to it actually being a fox.

Bump :)

We Are Marquette one ordered for me, Marquette Warriors one ordered for dad. Would love to have it for Louisville, but should have it for sure by Notre Dame.
Great work!

Threadworks does great MU stuff...

Also, I'll be buying a "Marquette Warriors" long sleeve when they become available. This is way cool.

anybody else starting to wonder about this yet? Site doesn't work anymore!

It's not just the warrior shirts that are offline, it's the whole website. Either they're having technical issues or Marquette somehow got the NSA to kick them off the internet entirely instead of just taking the copyright-infringing product down. I'm guessing it's the former.
I got our t-shirts in the mail yesterday... so if this were a fly-by-night scam they did a poor job of it :P
-
Good to know, Skat. Sorry for doubting you, aequitas.
-
Ordered one yesterday to make sure I got the size right, if all goes to plan I'll be making a couple more.

When did you order? Just curious. I ordered a week ago on the 18th...

I got mine yesterday also. I ordered on 2/16, so it took 8 days.
-
Got mine today. Blue, of course.

How do they run? Big, small or true to size?
-
Got my Blue Warriors T today as well. I'm now looking to my next purchase(s) as the fiancee was pissed I didn't one for her. Mark me down for a long-sleeve and a women's something.
Great job on the shirt, fellas. If I didn't know about it I'd swear I found one of my Dad's unworn shirts from the 70's.
-
just read through this thread and would love to order some of these shirts, but like others before me said, the website doesn't seem to be functional. any updates?
-

They're spot on and have minimal shrinkage. American Apparel (the tshirt brand they're printing on) makes really great product. Here's a sizing chart if you're concerned about getting a perfect fit. (http://americanapparel.net/sizing/default.asp?chart=mu.shirts)

http://www.marquette-warriors.com .. seems to be selling that ebay shirt.
-
I got mine yesterday also. I ordered on 2/16, so it took 8 days.
I ordered mine on the 16th as well - still a no show.
-
Patience, folks.
These guys are working hard on getting your orders done after their day jobs!
I got mine today. Thanks, D! :)
-
I received mine yesterday on Wednesday. They look gorgeous.
-
Hey 77NCAAChamps...Seems like you know these guys. Could you give them a call and let them know their site is down, I need to order some shirts!

Just not their site, the whole render shirts site. You can email Derrik about the MU shirts here:

Ordered my shirt last Friday and got it today...glad I've got it in time for my trip to Seton Hall this weekend.
-
eeeeeeeeeeeee...I ordered mine on the 16th and don't have it yet. Live in Tosa. Should I be concerned yet?
-
No worries Brew City - I ordered mine the 16th and live on the east side - haven't gotten mine either - but it sounds like they're on their way soon.
-
Got mine via USPS yesterday. Just a fyi, the shirts don't run small unless you've got too much meat on your bones. I usually wear a medium and thought I needed a large but would have been fine with the medium (especially if it doesn't shrink a bit). Guess I just need to place another order!

By the way, they're really nice shirts.

Got my 2 shirts today! Very very nice!

Thanks to Reinko for the post.
I don't know them; just talked to him once and traded a few emails.
And I'm in CA, they're in WI. ;)
Derrik sounds like a good guy trying to help out the MU community with a need.
And I NEED these shirts for the tourney! :)

Been a little while.
I've sort of been wondering what to do about this 'letter' I got from CLC. Not like I sold any "Marquette" shirts anyways.
But for those of you who are waiting for a shirt... I deeply apologize for the delay. Every single order that hasn't yet arrived in your mailboxes, is currently on its way.
Please, if anyone has any trouble getting theirs or has a problem... just get ahold of me through here.
But for those of you who want to place an order now on something that was up on the site a few days ago, unfortunately we've been shut down, temporarily at least.
We will be back in one form or another.
I'll be dropping back in on the scoop again in a few days when we get details on the new page.
See you soon!

CLC? What organization is that? Is that who shut you guys down?
