I don’t think it was intentional

THe way he shot it looked pretty intentional

Shaka confirmed it was. The players called for it.

Shaka and Darryl confirmed it was an intentional miss.

Intentional miss was the right call.

You think so?  It only took a tenth of a second off the clock, and allowed for a Laetner type play be a  winning basket rather than a tie.  What am I missing?

Then again, I rewatched the last call and completely felt it was a foul.  Need to give the shooter landing space...the defender got under him.  I seem to be in the minority with that opinion as well.

I think you take your chances with intentional miss. The odds are it is going to take a long distance three point shot and the extra point does not mean a great deal. That said, they did a great job of grabbing rebound and only losing .1 of a second. IMO, you needed to have the miss bounce out further and take some more time off the clock. I think it was the right call.

Missing it means that SH can’t run the baseline after the timeout.  Also MU didn’t make the same mistake Pitino did and guarded the inbounds pass.

With two timeouts, I don't see much benefit in the miss. I'd make both in case Breeding saw a mirage and called a foul.

Refs were inconsistent. MU wasn’t getting screwed.

Aiken didn’t foul Elliott on the shot.

and there you have it...might as well shut er down now

Shaka in his post game presser said the miss was intentional.

Took about .3 off the clock iirc. They adjusted it down during the timeout.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Goose - I don’t see any posts that “Shaka passed his second test”

Intentional miss was the right call.

Point

I can't wait until he passes my first test and gets a victory in March ending an almost decade drought. They have battled into pretty good position, and I will stick with my prediction they are ranked by 2/1.

Goose, I'll have what you're having!

I will be ecstatic with 4-3 during this stretch. And pretty good with 3-4.

But I want your outcome for sure.

Wasn’t able to run the line so they could stick Kuath on the ball.

I just got home from the game. Had "be a student seats." The booing after the noncall on Justin Lewis's drive and during the stoppage while they assisted him off the floor was as loud as I have heard in quite awhile. I suspect that may have had an influence on the call that sent Greg Elliot to the line at the end. That is sometimes what the home floor advantage is all about. I'll take the win with no apologies.

Jake

The meter started running the day Shaka was hired and no five year BS on evaluating the hire. Some on here thought building the system was the main objective this year and I believe winning is part of that system. High expectations are a good thing and I hope everyone starts thinking seeding vs. bubble team in the upcoming weeks. Have said it many times that this should be the worst team of the Shaka era at MU, but that does not mean winning is optional.

Apparently the ref told him he could. That’s why they gave the do over.

I could see this from my seats.  The inbounder asked twice (he did a finger waggle like the finger was running the baseline).  And both times the ref told him yes.  People around me were screaming before the play even began.

In my officiating experience (baseball, not football) I have always been taught that players are responsible for knowing the rules and the game situation, even if the ref/ump makes a mistake.  Giving him a second chance was very generous.

Yup like Shaka said he told the ref, doesn't matter it is still a travel.
