Brown was one of the best lacrosse players of all time...great great athlete.  I agree with you on the other stuff, but because he also helped out a certain community he gets a pass.  Don't you know how all this works...you've been around awhile.  Some people get 2, 3, 10 chances.  Some get zero.  It's the game that is played in this country and who decides who gets multiple trips to the forgiving line and who gets put out to pasture immediately.  Always entertaining to watch that game be played.

Huh?

Jim Brown is a bigoted animal unworthy of respect. His savagery crosses 5 decades. I am not sure what he has done for the black community other than beat senseless numerous black women. Musial, on the other hand, was the consummate gentleman. While both are at the pinnacle of accomplishment in their respective sports the character factor eliminates Brown from any "Greatest Ever" conversation.

I would write more but I need to get my hoodie out of the dryer and head down to the Outrage March taking place in downtown Seattle. Evidently our judicial system does not measure up in the eyes of some.

Really Keefe?

Damn, I have MM on ignore....glad I do.

It was fun to say hello to a few MU guys and pass on the MU love there.  Thought DWade's speech last night was well done.

I'm flattered, Chicos. As the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, put 'em on ignore.

I believe this is another one of Chicos' racist posts that he later claims was not at all about race.

i never considered myself sensitive or overly political correct, but that's probably the biggest prick post i've seen on here for awhile.  i happen to see no reason for an armed man to shoot an unarmed man, but even respecting the court's opinion, i have a great deal of sympathy for anyone who has to deal with the death of a child.  i wouldn't wish it on anyone...or ever make light of it.

Wow.  You're really a piece of work.  Quite the Christian, making fun of dead people.

And you claim other people race bait.

I'm done.

Remember this is the same dude who said the 50s were great and complained when I brought up that whole legalized racism thing.  Not exactly an enlightened thinker we are dealing with here.

Chico Stan Musial is in no way on Jim Brown's level.  As a player (in a sport 10x as popular) or a cultural icon.  Every single person i've ever talked to has Brown as a top 3 rb despite retiring at the start of his prime.

1) Good for Jimmy.  Well earned. Keep it going.
2). Re: Stan Musial. He's one of best ever to play the game. 24 time all star, only Mays and Aaron can tie that. 475 HR, 3 WS titles, 4th all time in hits, with equal 1815 home and road. It'd be different historically if he were a me first guy playing on the coast. Presidential medal of Freedom recipient. The new bridge connecting illinois and Missouri will be deservedly named for him.

Saw him, DWade, Oladipo, Lebron....had a good time.  Didn't get to talk to him, but got a MU shoutout in to DWade and an IU shoutout to Oladipo.

Fun times.
Chicos, if you're going to drop names like that, then you must have a good story to tell. There isn't even an effort to mask your name-dropping here. Also, nobody cares that you gave a shout-out to IU. Nobody.

The worst kind of racists are the ones that think that they aren't.  I'm sure he'd be great buddies with Pat Buchanan.

24 all star games is impressive, i never said he wasn't good.
He's was one of the best ever to play a game no one cares about anymore.  Chico's compared him to Jim Brown, he is not Jim Brown on or off the field.  feel free to disagree, but listing stats won't win me over since it's different sports.

ps. I would love to have someone explain why i should care that his away hits happen to equal his home hits.

Because most baseball players' stats are much better at home?
