Title: Halftime
Post by: PuertoRicanNightmare on February 10, 2007, 11:49:57 AM
A really, really sloppy start for Marquette but they seemed to calm down once McNeal picked up his third foul. I think the officiating has been really bad, especially when Fitz was forced out of bounds and no foul was called and then, the very next possession, McNeal was called for a charge. Awful calls.

Barro looks great as does Hayward. Who was the poster who predicted a great game for Lazar?

James has made some VERY questionable decisions. Hope that gets corrected in the second half. And I hope McNeal calms down a little bit.

to reiterate my post re recruiting: "aren't we recruiting any big men?"

James is definitely forcing it with McNeal having 3 fouls and Matthews maybe not at 100%(flu?).  It really is amazing we are only down 2 at half.  A more controlled James and McNeal and we could steal a win.

I don't understand why we don't have all americans at every position.  A good coach would be able to get at least 6 first & 2nd team big east palyers.

Here it comes, the Tom Crean is not a good coach bandwagon...

Yeah, it would be nice to have a better big man at times. But the reality is that MU is an offense oriented team. When our offense has issues, then we have a rougher game and occasionally have a loss. It happens.

It is a tough game away against a good team with a sick player (Matthews). What can you do but brush it off and keep going?

Hibbert is a rare player.

I thought Ooze did well today.  He could use a better backup, but our big men played well enough to get us the win today.

Chucken - I think RawdogDX was being sarcastic.

augoman - check out next year's incoming class.  There's 2-3 guys that would qualify as big men.  None quite Hibbert's size, but still big enough that they can hopefully help us down low.

I think we have a very underappreciated class coming in next year but all the bigs are fours not fives.   Mbakwe has a 7 foot wingspan but is only 6'8" but what a high flyer.  We could still use a legit five.  However, next year's team will be the most athletic team yet.

ooze is a phenom, and (thank God) we have him one more year.  Then what?  I'm familiar w/ the incoming class and certainly could have used one of the pf's we've recruited to complement ooze, but we haven't yet replaced him..., much less upgraded the inside.
