Question explains it all
-
Really think it needs a depends response. It is going depend on who's looking for a job as to which job is better. You could ask 50 D1 coaches which job was better and you'd get a mix of responses. Debate can't be settled.

Jesus H Christ on a pogo stick, I thought you were going to let it go. I can tell you without looking that you will get Marquette favorable results on this Marquette website, just like you would get Wisconsin favorable results on a Badger forum.
But please, continue. I thought I saw the dead horse twitch the last time you kicked it.

I'm letting scoop nation weigh in. Just because you dot want to talk about it doesn't mean no one else can.
I have an opinion, just not an agenda.
Simply put: not everything is about you.

No, clearly starting a self fellating thread after admitting the discussion was over proves everything is all about you.
-
This won't settle a debate. It will continue a debate started in another thread that was going in a direction the OP didn't like. I did vote, however. And, this clearly is about Grayson, not brewcity77.
-
Sorry to ask others for their opinion on an absolutely relevant topic to this forum? Out of line?

After all theses pages of posts, its DIFFICULT to believe one party is clearly blameless. Sorry I'm not choosing side on this, seems like there are good and bad point on both sides. And that the Good news!

The answer is unfortunately Wisconsin by quite a bit.
-
Here's what I've garnered from all of this
We have more ncaa history they've had a better recent run
We spend more on basketball but Wisconsin spends more on athletics
Wisconsin plays football
We play in an nba arena and they don't some people care as to which is better
We both recruit Wisconsin and have access to the neighboring markets
Ryan and Bennet make Wisconsin basketball we have had success over loads of guys.
Personally if the job opened tomorrow I'd take us since we have more basic talent and upside. Bo's a 1 in million coach who can take D3 and mid major talent but make a winner with them. Who else would want to get stuck with that type of roster?

LOL.

Is the coach religious or not?
My dearly departed MU alumna mother and fanatic hoops fan might have posed it this way: Catholic or Communist?
-
Here is the difference in the jobs and it matters to what either school is trying to attract: The Wisconsin job is parochial, it plays local with the golf tournaments, to the local press, to the state fan base. When Bo went national, he didn't play well whether the Uthoff transfer, the national interviews, the poor African American graduation rates, the Bennett feuds, or the whining about the refs or Duke one and dones. Bo didn't play well nationally, which played well to the locals. This, St. Bo.
The Marquette coaching job is a national job, OTOH with a fan base from all over, with the majority out of state. The local coverage is limited, covered by media in a pro sport town. It's conference consists of urban schools in major media markets which has a national view. It's coaches get a lot of national pub.
Wojo would never be accepted in Madison. Bo would be a poor fit at Marquette. This was like when Majerus was going for the ND job...it just wasn't going to ever work despite his basketball chops.

Your mother was a smart woman. We all know that the Pail and Shovel Party was an opaque front for the COMINTERN. Their original vision for Cheesetopia was a classless paradise but, during the period of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, the desire to foment revolution beyond their borders led to war with the University of Missouri. Missouri launched a pre-emptive nuclear strike that severely damaged the Wisconsin Student Union.

WOW

both - both frustrating as players at times but I'm not interested in Ners-esque railings against any collegiate athlete.
Sorry to ruin the storyline

Your profile was all wrong to be Ners. Just chain yanking.

Never heard one's sexual organ referred ta as a "chain" before, hey?

Doc, I agree with much of your thought. HOWEVER, the core belief that Bo would not be accepted in Milwaukee is, candidly, bunk.
If our coach takes us to the National Championship, consistently wins and recruits young men who are graduated and play pro ball, our coach would be accepted even if he had two horns, a pitchfork and a pointed tail.
Some outsiders, by the way, thought we had Satan coaching here from 1964 to 1977.
Wojo would be accepted at Madison for the same reason. If he wins, upholds the honor of the university and graduates his players, he would be accepted in Madison even if he was a politically active hard-core conservative.

I said "poor fit". Not because of basketball, but because of his inability to deal with a more critical (local and national, not just the slurpers like Schultz and Potrykus) press and alum/fans in a critical sports town, where there may not be coverage of your every word and it may not be positive. Zero percent African American graduation rates, room break ins, recruit drinking incidents? Bo couldn't handle a Mike & Mike interview, lost top Milwaukee recruits. MU fired an assistant coach over a t-shirt, how would they feel about hiring a coach who had an illegal car loan payment scandal on his resume with the NCAA?
Bo is built for a state school in college town. No program or coach is perfect and there will always be incidents when college aged athletes and sports mingle...but could Bo handle it all? Rather than playing booster rounds of golf with Andy North and the locals, would he be good at making the rounds in New York, Chicago, LA? Would winning cause people to look the other way? Or as he is finding with his recent national success, make you a bigger target? Bo hasn't handled it well, by all measures.
Most, if not all of MU's coaches since Al, haven't either. TC may have been the closest, but he, KO and Bert went running to a gig like Bo's. Rick, Dean-O, and the Piano Man retreated to the Hinterlands, only Rick came back. Wojo knows how to run a national program, whether Duke or USA Basketball...which is why he got the gig.

If he could win a national title, YES!
