Brilliant coaching by Shaka "Oso" Smart
« on: January 20, 2022, 01:18:07 PM »
What outstanding coaching last night by Coach Smart against VU. He knew he had to slow the game down to not allow VU the transition shot they get with Collin Gillespie running the offense, and force VU to play against MU's ever evolving defense and length, and it was brilliant. They virtually took Collin out of the game and did not allow him to dribble down and then dish off for easy buckets. Yes, he got a few, but was never a factor to change the game tempo. MU is playing great defense, taking care of the ball, and playing a different brand of BB than we witnessed for 7 years under WOJO. What an incredible transformation to a coach that knows how to coach, make in game adjustments, and last night, out coach Jay Wright...VU did not have answers for MU, and that rests right at the feet of Coach Smart who knew exactly how MU had to play to win at virtually winless Finneran Pavilion for visiting teams!
