Biggest comeback in D-1 history
« on: February 22, 2018, 10:10:46 PM »
Just days after Michigan State's impressive 27-point comeback against Northwestern, Drexel came back from 34 points down to beat Delaware.

Musta looked bleak trailing 53-19.

Actually, I have my own saying, even used it in a few columns during my writing prime 1,000 years ago:

It ain't over till somebody says, "It ain't over till it's over." As soon as somebody says that, you know it's over.

I would probably quit watching basketball forever if that happened to MU.

A&M coming back to win after being down by 12 with 34 seconds left is still the biggest comeback in D1 history.

If you do it by points per minute, sure.  But 34 is now the largest total deficit a team ever came back from to win.

I was at the game in Rupp.  There was a group of Davidson "bros" in jerseys with no shirts under puffing their chests, pounding their chests with their fists, being loud and obnoxious, etc.  After we had hung around in Rupp for a bit after the game we saw them standing outside Rupp waiting for their bus.  One of them was crying and the other was keeled over with his hands on his knees.  Hilarious.

Great story, wades.

And I'm glad it wasn't you who was bare-chested, weeping and keeled over! For about 39 minutes, that fate appeared entirely possible.

When I need a pick-me-up, I'll still watch that last minute-plus every once in awhile!!

I probably haven't seen quite as many basketball games in my lifetime as most of you but that was one of the best games I have ever attended in person on any level!

My bad.  Old habit I'm trying to break.

At least I don't smoke....
Funny, I still smoke.  ;D
