300 Spartans

Just in case you haven't seen the movie 300 yet, YOU NEED TO!

While I was watching it, a lot of quotes using "warrior" instead of "spartan" (I know they are interchangeable in that context) were suweeet.

For a split second I thought about how cool it would be to have a Spartan as our mascot, but half a split second later my silly self remembered about MSU

I also recalled guest of honor to MU NROTC's Navy Ball 2005.  He was a Brigadier General, and basically he summed up his speech by saying something to the effect of changing our name back to the Marquette Warriors, but to avoid all the PCness about American Indians, just have the mascot be a United States Marine and have him dressed up all Rambo-like at the games.  Now how's THAT for bad@ss?

Anyways, if you haven't seen 300, go watch it.  If you have, watch it again, because I'm going to.  It will be your only excuse to root for Spartans for a while.

GO WARRIORS!
