I never thought I would write that as a subject line. Words can't do this story/video justice.

It's not like .. you know .. midgets really beat him up.  It was a movie set, and they punked him a bit.  Golly.  Imagine actors doing that on a movie set.

I think you're missing the point. How many other top 50 all time greatest basketball players ever have you seen in a movie called Midgets vs Mascots? The point being, what the hell was Scottie Pippen doing in this movie, and why did he ($$$, cough cough) agree to it?

Interesting question.  Who would get sent packing from the top 50 to make room for...Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, Nash and eventually LeBron should crack it.  Maybe are Wade, AI, Kidd.  Missing anyone?

Here is the current top 50.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Nate Archibald
Paul Arizin
Charles Barkley
Rick Barry
Elgin Baylor
Dave Bing
Larry Bird
Wilt Chamberlain
Bob Cousy
Dave Cowens
Billy Cunningham
Dave DeBusschere
Clyde Drexler
Julius Erving
Patrick Ewing
Walt Frazier
George Gervin
Hal Greer
John Havlicek
Elvin Hayes
Magic Johnson
Sam Jones
Michael Jordan
Jerry Lucas
Karl Malone
Moses Malone
Pete Maravich
Kevin McHale
George Mikan
Earl Monroe
Hakeem Olajuwon
Shaquille O'Neal
Robert Parish
Bob Pettit
Scottie Pippen
Willis Reed
Oscar Robertson
David Robinson
Bill Russell
Dolph Schayes
Bill Sharman
John Stockton
Isiah Thomas
Nate Thurmond
Wes Unseld
Bill Walton
Jerry West
Lenny Wilkens
James Worthy

Those are my best guesses...

Kobe is already a top 10 player, Nash is a top 5 PG, Garnett is easily top 50, and Lebron is top 15... Wade is probably top 25

Are you freaking nuts? Pippen won SIX NBA Championships! Do you think Jordan did that by himself? One year the team lost just 10 games. Here is a list of guys who would have to be moved off the list way before Scottie.

Nate Archibald
Paul Arizin
Dave Bing
Dave Cowens
Billy Cunningham
Dave DeBusschere
Clyde Drexler
Patrick Ewing (most overrated player in modern NBA history)
George Gervin
Hal Greer
John Havlicek
Elvin Hayes
Sam Jones
Jerry Lucas
Pete Maravich
Earl Monroe
Robert Parish
Dolph Schayes
Bill Sharman
Nate Thurmond
Wes Unseld
James Worthy

Pippen CLEARLY belongs amongst the NBA greats. Questioning shows an utter lack of understanding of the NBA.

Take MJ out and Pippen is simply good, but not great.

Chicago tried to build around him. FAIL.
He went to Portland to try and be the man. FAIL.

He was a great cog in that machine of the 90s, but no way is he top 50. Move over for LeBron...in about 10 years.

Robert Horry won seven championships, does he belong in the top 50 too?

Pippen is unquestionably a top 50 top player of all time, PRN is dead on the money. The one full season without Jordan, was arguably his best season.

22 ppg
8.7 rbg
5.6 apg
2.9 spg (led the league)

All Star Game MVP
3rd in MVP voting
First team all NBA, First Team All Defense

He's one of the best defensive forwards of all time (all time career leader in steals by a forward, all time steals leader in the playoffs regardless of position). Also is the all time career leader in assists by a forward.

Chicago was 55-27 and 47-35 the two years the team was built around him.  How is that a fail?

Meanwhile, he went to Portland and they went 59-23, 50-32, 49-33, and 50-32.  However, he was not brought there to be the man as he was already up there in age (34), rather he was brought there to be part of an ensemble cast to try and win a title, which they nearly did his first year (one of the ultimate screw jobs in the NBA in the game 7 loss to LA).  How is that FAIL?

I thought we were talking about all-time.  Are you talking about since 1990?  Or do think the NBA started the year you were born?  Those 2 players have a lot more seasons to put in before they are held in such high regard.  If either had a career-ending injury tonight, they would be nowhere near that status.

Well put. I would say he'd belong in the top 75 easily.
Great numbers but he always played with someone better than him on his teams.
Skewed? Sure. But there's a lot of Pip there in those numbers.
He's the ultimate Robin to the team's Batman.
But one of the arguable question marks on the list.

Scottie Pippen was a perennial All Star. Horry? Where you guys get that he was overrated is beyond me. The guy was phenomenal. As far as "second bananas" go, he has no peer. Easily a Top 50 player of all time and, newsflash, Wade has a long way to go to have his career compared to Scottie Pippen. A long way. Scottie Pippen is comparable to Magic Johnson...that's how good he was.

Hey PRN, I just cruised through Pippen chapter in the Book of BasketBall, and I stand corrected.  Definetly top 50 after reading more about his career.

In this thread PRN > Reinko.
