Shades of last year?
« on: January 15, 2011, 12:29:48 PM »
To me, this game looked a lot like the Washington game from last year (though the comeback happened quicker) and a number of our other close calls from last year.  We get out to a big lead, play not to lose, and let the other team sneak into it.  A major part of why we shift into that style of play late in games is because our starters are absolutely wiped.  we had 41 bench minutes today, 23 from cadougan, as compared to 77 from the l-ville bench.  When you only play 6.5 deep, its damn tough to play 40 minutes of basketball at full speed.  What we needed today was when we got up big to put in gardner or williams for some instant offense and just keep feeding it to them down low, hoping for some fouls on the l-ville bigs.
