DVR video to PC?

I recorded the last MU game on my Time Warner HD DVR.  At one point my cousin's daughter was shown and if it isn't too difficult, I wanted to transfer these 5 secs. of video to my PC to show the family outside Milwaukee.

Any suggestions for how to do this?

Titan can do this, I think.  He got my buddy picking his nose on espn a few years back.

The quickest solution is .. get our your video camera .. play the clip and record it on your videocam.  It's low tech, low-quality, but you won't need cables or other equipment.

(Assuming you edit your video cam stuff on your PC...)

Here are the instructions I recently used to transfer HD video from a Comcast Motorola DVR to my PC.  It's a pretty old link, but it worked.  Not sure if TW has the same hardware as Comcrap.  You need a firewire cable too.

Be advised, it takes up a lot of hard drive space.  I transferred the last 30 min of game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals (OT and cup celebration) and it used up 3.5 GB.

When I used to put together video highlights I had basic cable and a small box that came with my computer which allowed me to plug the cable right into my computer.  The videos saved right on my computer's hard drive.

Now I have DirecTV though and would love to know if there was a way to get things off the DVR.

You'll need a video capture card on your PC.  It's pretty easy.  I also have a DVD recorder and archive a lot of stuff that way from my HD DVR.
