BEast transfer rates for the freshman class of 2008

I do love silverwarrior.   Of the 40 members of the freshman class of 2008 in the BEast, only 20 are on the roster for next year.    MU does not have an exceptionally high transfer rate.

Silver updated for freshman class of 2009.   53% transfer rate.     Can we please put to rest the idea that MU has more transfers than other schools?

Yes, we can. Well, most of us can.

Why are transfers even a problem?  Top programs recruit kids that want to play and when they ride the pines, they find another place.  Nothing wrong with that.

In fact, as I pointed out before (too lazy to find the link), the top programs have tons of transfers.  UNC, UCLA, Kentucky, Duke Georgetown etc have all had more transfers that MU.

Point is, I don't know what everyone is stuck with 1980s thinking around here.  Transfers are not a bad thing.

There are programs that do well with high transfers.  There are programs that do well with very few transfers.  I don't have an issue with transfers either, as long as they aren't Creaned, but that does happen which is regrettable.

With the new multi-year scholarships approved by the NCAA this year, you may see a cut in the transfer rate.

But the question remains if the top tier programs will see a decrease.

I have a feeling they will as they will be the only ones who have the $ to offer said scholarships.

Interesting of note, David Stern has been quoted recently that he is in favor of a 2 and done as opposed to a 1 and done.

Sounds like these "multiyear" may be 2 years instead of 3 or 4 years we may have expected to see.

I'm sick and tired of so called MU "fans" coming on this site and calling Marquette mediocre!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
