1-point dog to DePaul

Per ESPN app. Um, wow. Vegas really doubling down on the Howard injury. This SEEMS like really easy money.

Right. I'm even planning to be there early enough to sing along when they play the alma mater.

I'll be listening on TV to hear the first chant of "This is Our House" at the new digs.

Vegas generally goes off of KenPom projection, yet we are favored to win by 2 in Pomeroy.  Considering we've been playing MUCH better with Markus sidelined, assuming Markus is out again Saturday, MU getting 1 seems like a lock to me.  I suspect we win by 10-15 tomorrow.

FOX Sport App has MU -3.5. FOX Sports App is great for Big East highlights.

The consensus Vegas line is MU -3.5 with an over/under of 155.

Vegas starts with kenpom but then adjusts for injuries. One book owner said he never adjusts more than 2 points for a college change (new eligible player or injury), so that would make it a pickem.

Value add claims you take an injury to a top 6 player (Howard 6.41) and subtract the no. 7 player (Jamal Cain 1.14), so in this case that would take Marquette from 2 point favorite to a 3 point dog based on kenpom minus value add injury.

However, the built in home advantage would seem to be mostly eliminated with our fan base so analytically it's tight.

So if you start with analytics as a slight underdog but then make the common sense subjective adjustment for how well Sacar Anim and the freshmen have stepped up I feel good about a win, but I understand the spread.

I'm pretty sure we're a lot less important in that regard than Wojo and the team.  As a matter of fact, it's quite possible that overconfident Scoopers have no impact on the outcome....

Same here.  I show MU -3.5 and a 155 O/U.

Give the points and pound the over.  90-81

Agreed, Nagin. I'm down at -1. Plus the parlay.

I very often do not bet on MU games because I'm afraid I will let subjectivity enter the picture.
Sometimes (like this) it just looks to be good to be true (although I'd never buy a stock with the same feeling, so maybe subjectivity has snuck in!).

I didn't realize that all of DePaul's wins in the BE have come on the road. They haven't won in their new stadium in conference.

I hope someday someone can turn this program around.

I think some sites or apps default to a -1 line for the home team when a game is first loaded. Since the line posted on ESPN or any other sports app doesn't actually impact betting, it's no big deal if they have a default line in there for a few hours or a few days.

Opened at -3.5, went to -3 around midnight.  I was actually in the process of putting together a BE parlay card when the line changed.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
