Rivals Position Rankings
« on: February 15, 2010, 03:36:11 PM »
Interesting to view the latest position rankings on Rivals site.  Lazar's stock is rising (listed as the 5th best power forward in the country).  Respect and recognition finally being awarded to Lazar.

Jimmy B comes in as the #10 ranked small forward.  That's simply remarkable, considering he was considered a "bust" at his debut @ midnight madness last year.

If my mancrush on #3 wasn't so strong, Lazar would be my all-time favorite MU baller.

Thanks.  How does Billy Donovan get ranked 13th while Buzz is nowhere to be found!?!  ?-(

5th best in the country, but no NBA buzz according to Chad Ford's top 100.  :(

Irony defined:  MU is known for it's guard play, yet we have no guards ranked and our forwards are #5 and #10.

Agreed.  Their coaches rankings aren't as current as the players rankings...but still no excuse.  Great to see Xavier get that road win at Florida this weekend.

Lazar spent most of last year around #10 on those rankings, so I wouldn't say there's a lack of respect or recognition at least as far as the Rivals position rankings go.

Great to see Jimmy there.  Hopefully DJO can crack the shooting guard rankings at some point.

Check again.  They updated them.  Billy D dropped out whereas Buzz slid in at #19...only 7 spots behind St. Bo.

No Rick Jackson.  No Arinze Onuaku.  No Andy Rautins.  Wes Johnson at number 3, but that's it.  I guess with the lack of talent, Jim Boeheim is a better choice for coach of the year than Buzz, who has one of the best frontcourts in the nation.

That isnt surprising. Do you really think Rautins can play SG in the NBA? And Im pretty sure Onuaku has had two surgeries on EACH knee and already has chronic arthritis in both. What GM would touch that?

Is this based on who is the best NBA prospect?  Then why would Zar and Jimmy be so high?  No one thinks of them as high NBA prospects.  Zar certainly wouldn't be ahead of Patrick Patterson.  Also, Scheyer wouldn't be 13 spots ahead of Kemba Walker.  If its about effectiveness on the college level, I would put both Onuaku and Rautins on the list, and I would put Jackson pretty high on a list.  Maybe that's Big East bias, though.  I haven't watched Cory Higgins or Randy Culpepper play, ever.

Jimmy is listed under the Small Forward category but then has a "G" next to his name...

If I was picking a team, I would take Lazar over Harangody any day...

That should be a fun senior day for Zar, dominating Gody and proving you right.

If only Jimmy could get some minutes at the 3 and if only Lazar could get some minutes at the 4...

Really?

Imagine DJ, Wes, and Jerel playing with Harangody for three years.

Really?  You think Harangody puts up the same numbers on a team with those 3?  Yes, I still take Lazar.
