Good game for Joey tonight in MSU's 2-point win over Maryland: 10 pts, 5 reb, hit a couple 3s, helped MSU build a big lead that they frittered away. Subbed out with 3:27 and didn't return.

Malik Hall hit the winning hoop with 1 second left.

I watched the last 2 minutes of the first half and happened to see Joey's 3. Missed the rest, and that's OK as it sounds like it was real missable. Wasn't just a road loss by Sparty but a 22-point beatdown at the hands of the mighty Scarlet Knights.

This would seem a step backward for Vanilla Soft Serve.

MSU barely beat a mediocre Maryland team and now got crushed by Rutgers. Could Sparty fall enough for Marquette to pass them in the polls?

Izzy looked stressed. Wonder if he got a letter before the game.

At this point he probably wants one.

Sam is teammates with Deonte Burton on the Maine Red Claws this year. In the Box score they list Deonte as playing PG.

Probably the other Deonte Burton who played PG at Nevada.

No HC is right. However,  the Red Claws are now called the Celtics.... but still have a lobster as their mascot

Did he and Floppy exchange low 5s during the game?

Sparty fans should be thrilled, as he exceeded his season averages in both categories.

Izzo-Dukiet got outcoached all night.  Joey would have been better coached at UW-Madison

Good for him. I was right about Markus getting some NBA run. I was wrong about Sam.

I still think his lack of lateral quickness will prevent him from sticking long-term. But he's had a pretty cool year and hopefully he continues to prove me wrong.

Again ... NBA teams are desperate for 3-point shooting. Again ... Sam shoots 3s at an elite level.

There are plenty of other guys who aren't especially good on D. At least Sam makes an effort. I'm guessing he'll be able to hang around on the NBA fringes for quite some time. I mean, we all love Steve Novak ... but he couldn't defend a mannequin, and he lasted a decade in the league.

“ Well, he had a chance to get a lot of meaningful minutes. For a rookie looking to stay in the NBA, that’s a pretty big deal. But he couldn’t get them because he apparently didn’t get vaccinated. Oops! Life is moving on without him because of his dumb choices.”

“ It was clearly a dumb choice. He had the opportunity to play meaningful minutes in a profession that he has dedicated his life to, but one in which he is a marginal talent. But he chose to believe misinformation instead.”

“This. He let down his teammates, his organization, his profession and, mostly, himself. “

Seems like a lot of assuming he was toast and how he wasted his opportunity by supposedly being unvaccinated (which I don’t actually think was the case based on how long he actually sat for)  ::)
