Crimson Tried
« on: March 14, 2018, 08:09:04 PM »
1.  Sloppy.    So so so so sloppy.
2.  Rowsey played like he was still not over crying from last week.  So bad.
3.  Sam's hip is so sore.   If the hip surgery is what it is reputed to be, it is amazing he is out there.
4.  Cain was so active defensively.    And so weak with the ball.   Envisioning him 20 lbs stronger.
5.   The announcers  sure played up the freshman angle.
6.  And the Duke point guards as coaches.
7.  Maybe there is something to that shooting background thing.    MU missed so many shots they usually make.
8.  MU's defense was the best it has been in a long time.    Disrupted passing lanes.    Deflections, steals, turnovers, charges.
9.  MU won't beat Oregon if neither Sam nor Jamal plays.     And Marquette will lose big.
10.  Fun stat.    Against teams that are not 1 or 2 seeds in the NCAA tournament, MU is 20-7.     Against teams that are not 1-2 seeds in the NCAA tournament, MU is 20-7.   20-6 against all teams that aren't 1-2 seeds.     0-6 against Villanova, Xavier, Purdue.   Throw in the 4 seed Wichita State.
11. Need a transfer PG for next year.   Could have used one this year.

Surprised you could find 11 topics after that horrible game.

12. Have to think Harry is gone when the tents folds up this season.

That was a tough watch, that last 90 seconds was Ugly. Capital U intended.

Also, did those announcers win some contest or something to announce that game? What the hell was that?

Brutal game to watch. Any way they can just forfeit the next one and regroup next season?

Do not forget the point guard play by our 3 point "shooting stars".

Really crummy game.  Thought we could take this thing, but the team is beat up and already looks defeated.  Hauser hurt, Cain hurt, Elliott hurt, Froling might as well just head back to Australia now.  I think Oregon comes in and puts us out of our misery.

Don't they practice at the Al (they did when I was there, not sure if that's still the case)? They should be hitting more of their shots if anything.

Agreed.    But MU got everything they wanted out of their offense in the first half and made squat.

Let's hope that anyone who still harbored the thought that Markus would be our PG next year has been disabused of that notion. Could not believe that he was "credited" with only 4 TO's. His uncle must have been doing the stats - he had 3 in a minute. We need PG help BADDDDDDD!

A tough watch. Almost a non-event. Continue in this fugue and Oregon will waltz.

Did anyone notice Sams hip before the thread on scoop about his pending surgery? I don't remember any comments about it 2 weeks ago, but now it's popping up all over.

To be an optimist, we got great shots. We hit like we normally do, and we roll through this one, never seeing the ugliness of the final minutes.

Defense was surprisingly good.

Clean up the turnovers, get healthy, hit the shots we normally hit, and we're in good shape against Oregon. Without those...see you next year.

It was mentioned first several weeks ago that he had injured it.   Like, late January ish.   It has clearly not gotten better.

It’s pretty clearly a hip injury from watching him Him. He only played a handful of 2H minutes, and almost not at all in the 4th.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I am thinking more and more that Harry is gone after this season.

After that 4 game stretch of a couple DNP’s and limited appearances in the other 2, I thought he’s gone. Just seems inevitable.

You think?  I would almost bank it.  Kid has two DNPs in a row and game before that played three minutes and had three fouls.  Prior, he played two minutes, three minutes and another two DNPs.  Shame, but will maybe add another grad guard surely needed.

Ugly, ugly, ugly game. Both teams were brutal to watch. Good news, our brutal was less disturbing than Harvard.

I mean if Harry was staying, there’d be  no better time for him to get minutes than in this tournament.

Harvard had two of their best players out. We stunk, period.

Glad Harvard was without their best player and Ivy League POY.  Suspect we would have lost if that kid was playing.
