Oui! bonne chance, grand lissez.

Also, congrats to all who continually misspell his name as Devante.
Now, you can claim that you were simply using the French spelling.

And Buycks, who leveraged a French league MVP into an NBA contract. Perhaps some connection there helped steer Davante in that direction?

Cool.  I'll be there in three weeks for work, maybe I can catch the big fella.  Have to bring a MU sweatshirt just in case.

From a Twitter exchange with Kris Joseph, seems like he will be playing in Toulon, who have a second division side.  Not a bad spot on the Mediterranean to hoop it up.

Good food in France, but small portions.  Would figure Ox to Italy.

Actually, on the Mediterranean (vs. Paris) I've found the portions to be reasonable and the selection to be a mix of Italian, French countryside, and well, "Mediterranean".

He's getting a chance to live in a beautiful area!

Context 82, Context.  Take statements in their proper context.  As in when people were arguing Garnder wouldn't stand a chance guarding a guy like Dirk on the perimeter (true)....it goes two ways...as in Dirk wouldn't stand a chance guarding a guy like Gardner in the paint.  7' and 225lbs won't hold up against 6'8" 290lbs.  That is all that was being said.  Yet I know some wanted to twist my statements into somehow suggesting Gardner was an equal of Dirk, or by virtue of the statement alone that Dirk couldn't defend Gardner well in the post - that Gardner was an NBA lock.  Never said that.  Yet, I still wouldn't be surprised to see Gardner get a cup of coffee in the league....if he doesn't go crazy on the food overseas.

I am so happy for Davante. Will always be one of the most underrated players in MU history in my book.

The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

What a great place to land. It will be interesting to see how the big guy does. Certainly hope the team has a  point guard who likes to pass.

Regarding food, as Rocky pointed out, everything south of the Maritime Alps was part of Italy until the late 1800s, and the kitchen in Provence is historically "Mediterranean", as is the weather. The area has over 300 days of sunshine a year. This makes its climate almost like Milwaukee's.

The weather and the history of Provence result in a cuisine of lots of vegetables, fruit, cheese, and not much meat. As a general rule, servings are never bigger than one's fist.

If Davante eats like the locals, he should be in Magic Johnson form by the end of the season.

Davante' Gardner (@iGetBuckets_54) | Twitter

I went there yesterday after searching DG on Google....and this was the top of his twitter page....

https://twitter.com/iGetBuckets_54/status/516024499167576064

So I figured I wasn't going to get much going down that path.  So if anyone knows where he is playing, that would be cool.

You think it'd show up here: http://basketball.realgm.com/international/transactions

but I found nothing.

He's represented by Relativity Sports, I believe, which reps Butler, Buycks, and Jamil.

Tried seeing agent McCaskill's tweets but they're protected.

EDIT: MoAck is playing for Denain in ProB France.

If DG is supposed to play in the ProB league, his name should appear here:

I mentioned earlier he had a back and forth with Kris Joseph about where they were both playing and DG said Toulon.  The only club in the city is Hyères-Toulon Var Basket, so I'd imagine its there.

see Hyeres-Toulon var Basket www.basket-htv.com ... however, no mention of Davante as of a few days ago.
