Thomas does a great job spreading the floor. His man can never leave him, ergo he is spreading out the defense

Can't leave him, but can grab a chair and camp out.  Baller who gasses his guy each possession running after him is doing more to spread things out.

Does this count as a quality win?

It's not a signature win. But it's a quality win.

Good work today Warriors. Let's see more of what you showed us in the first half

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Really?

DWil had 4 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and 1 turnover.  Was 0 for 2 from free throw line.  Winner.

Thomas was 1 for 5, all threes and three fouls.  More Mayo, less Thomas.

Great team effort.  Jake and Juan struggled, but everyone else made nice contributions.

If those were your starter's minutes, you'd better hope his last name is Craft and first name is Aaron.

1 for 5...all three's...He's no Novak.

Agreed on Thomas tonight.  His wiiiiide open 3 pointer was ahead scratcher.

I was responding to Nevada, who has been part of the Ners koolaid gang.

Nevada's comment was accurate.  My bad.

With about 8 minutes left, and Providence was making a comeback, I was thinking about what I would do in this situation:
  • Go with my experienced, on average moderately talented uppper class, and hope they grind it out, or
  • go with my talented, streaky freshman, who may put it away, but are also freshman?

Even though I supported going young to start the game, I found my self thinking experience was best, and it worked out.

Was I the only one with those thoughts?

Congrats Chili - I know you are a Derrick fan - he played a nice game tonight.  Doesn't change my overall opinion of course, but he played a serviceable PG tonight.

Serviceable? Either you're joking or you don't know anything about basketball whatsoever.

Ners and Nevada,

I appreciate your comments.

Yes, I am a Derrick supporter.  And a Dawson supporter.

I think we are on to something special tonight.  This team learned to win tonight.

To my way of thinking, Jamil is the x factor.  All the talent in the world.  Love the guy (yes, I have met him), but he is turning himself turn into one of those guys who has all the talent in the world but....

I am hoping that John and Derick compliment each other the rest of the season.  This would be a great combo.  A winning combo.

N&N, it's all about how we finish.  Buzz gets that.  When this season is over, we will all be glad that we have Derrick and John.

You can see our D+D = Defense was on tonite......

certainly BTA...... You can tell that they compliment each other well Derrick and Dawson Because Dawsons on ball defense was definitely something hes learned by playing against and learning from Wilson...

I was certainly impressed and hope it keeps up... Im certainly not blind and I may have been critical of Derrick at times but my standards are high... My two cents isnt worth 37 Dollars and change... but I do recognize a great effort by the back court Mobb tonite... 1 team 1 fight....

These guys keep improving and they will be alot to deal with come Big east tournament time......

To make Cotton look pedestrian tonite is no small feat.........

Our D+D combo seems to be working OK.

I have no basketbal IQ (never played), so as objective as is possible for people who understand the whole game, what would happen if Mayo and JJJ took every minute at the 2?
