Go read Brew's post above mine in that thread...But hey dude, keep being THAT GUY who is quick to convict and believes in guilt before innocence, without ever hearing the other side of a story.  And keep being that creepy dude who archives posts for 7+ years to re-reference.

But can you dunk

And unarguably the biggest driver of getting Buzz to leave

Well, I am arguing it.

Larry left well before Buzz, and  Buzz was one of the driving forces behind Larry's resignation.  If anything, that gave Buzz even more power (real or perceived) than he had before.

Coach Williams is a nomad, he was likely leaving only a matter of when.  He has never stayed long anywhere by his own history.

Larry Williams was already gone.

Al is gone, Hank, Rick, Crean, Buzz, Cords.   There were years we overachieved with long runs, years we underachieved and bounced early.   One play can swing your experience.  We won by a bucket over seeds worse than ours, lost by a bucket to seeds worse than ours.  That is the NCAA tournament.

Dwell on the past if you wish, make predictions about how things would have gone with absolutely no way to prove anything if it makes one feel better.   Imagine for a minute if we don't beat Utah State by 1 point?  Or don't beat Davidson?  Or Butler?  The fact is we did, but those games are decided by one basketball going through a hoop during a game.  Not a shot a coach took, but players took or opposing players let in.  Variables everywhere.  When you break it down like that, that is how close to a razor's edge success and failure can be measured - one bucket over 40 minutes.

We play in a top 3 conference in the USA, have gone .500 the last three years and lose one player off this year's team.  This team is ready to take the next step.  I plan on embracing it.

Yes, Larry left before Buzz, but Larry had also messed with Buzz's happy so much before he left, there was almost no way buzz could ever get back to feeling how he had...It's like someone that picks and picks and picks at you until you reach your breaking point...That stuff sticks with you and it's hard to forget.

17-15

Yup, that 2014 season was arguably worse than Wojo's first season just based on expectations alone. Buzz quit halfway through the season, there's no denying that.

I believe MU lost three straight OT games and had they won they won them all they would have made it or at least been close. I don’t think he quit on the team but he had already mentally checked out and knew he was leaving.
