Actually the gas lines lasted for quite some time, but it was 28 years ago today that Carter brought up the "Malaise Speech" and gave an index using the map.  A year later he was crushed 489 to 49 in the election.

Carter was a disaster!

That ill fated rescue attempt of 100 or so  hostages in the middle of Tehran says it all! Who wouldn't have had a malaise after that one?
