Roster addition

Robert Frozena, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound freshman guard from Menasha St. Mary's High School, has been added to the Golden Eagles' roster.
In addition, it sounds as though senior forward Dan Fitzgerald will suit up but not play tonight against UWM because of an injury to either his hand or wrist.
I'll update as more information becomes available.

MU cloaked in gold

Marquette has broken out gold uniforms for the first time this season in tonight's game vs. UW-Milwaukee. The crowd appears to be very pro-Marquette, although plenty of seats in the upper deck are empty.
Marquette has jumped to a 9-6 lead with 16:45 left in the game. However Torrey Johnson is already giving the Golden Eagles fits inside.

Panthers playing with purpose

This does not appear to be the same UW-Milwaukee team that lost to Drake and Sam Houston State last week. MU leads 18-15 with 11:39 to play in the first half, but the Panthers have made 7 of 13 shots and are shooting almost 54% from the field as the crowd continues to file in. 
It's pretty clear that this is not just another game for Rob Jeter's club.

MU chucking it from the cheap seats

In Marquette's first five games, it has basically played to the level of its competition. In the first 10 minutes of the half, that appeared to be the case again as UW-Milwaukee was able to keep the score close by taking high-percentage shots.
However, quickness and perimeter defense in transition is beginning to be a problem for the Panthers. MU has opened up a 29-18 lead on the Panthers with 7:26 to play, with the help of three-pointers from Wes Matthews, David Cubillan and Dominic James.
MU is getting plenty of looks from outside the arc. The Eagles have already taken 10 three-point shots.

MU continues to go long

Marquette's transition game has hit another gear. The Eagles used an 11-0 run late in the first half to take a 48-30 lead and probably end all suspense for the rest of the night. The Eagles continue to bomb away from long range.
David Cubillan and Lazar Hayward have four of Marquette's eight three-pointers in the first half. The Eagles are shooting 50% from beyond the arc.
MU leads 50-33 at the end of the first half.

More bad news for UWM

UWM forward Torre Johnson only played six minutes in the first half because of foul trouble and picked up his third fourl with 17 minutes left to play.
Reserve guard Deion James has been the only bright spot for the Panthers. He has 10 points and hasn't missed from the field. 
MU leads 61-39 with 16:05 to play.

James keeps getting to the hoop

Coming off an above-average Maui Invitational tournament, Dominic James has continued his impressive play. Staying in front of the MU point guard has been a problem for UWM. James has 20 points on 9 of 12 shooting despite the fact that backup Maurice Acker is seeing plenty of playing time.
James re-enters the game with 13:44 to play. The Eagles lead, 65-42.

Put the walk-ons in

Marquette has four starters in with 4:27 to play in a 91-58 game. This is probably the time to let Dominic James and company take the rest of the night off. After Marquette completes the rout, The Golden Eagles will have beaten UW-Milwaukee 35 straight times.
Only Syracuse has a longer streak against an opponent.

Marquette 100, UWM 65

Dominic James scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half and Marquette hit eight three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes as the Golden Eagles coasted past UW-Milwaukee, 100-65 at the Bradley Center Friday night.
Playing the city rival Panthers for the first time since Dec. 8, 1998, MU built a 50-33 halftime lead and cruised to victory. Four Marquette players scored in double figures. Deion James led UWM with 10 points. Leading scorer Torre Johnson couldn't overcome foul trouble and finished with seven points.
Marquette has now defeated UWM 35 straight times. Only Syracuse has a longer streak against a Division I opponent. 
The last time MU scored 100 points in a game was on March 22, 2003 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles defeated Missouri, 101-92 in overtime.

Pity there is no white-out for net posts.
If UWM played with purpose whatever might that purpose have been? To demonstate that they have returned to the UWM BB oblivion we knew and loved? The Great Pumpkin has moved on to Tennessee, never to return. Leaving Rosiak to create interest where there is none.

Actually, it is "pretty clear that this is not just another game for Rob Jeter's club." Right, it is much worse.
