Where is the interior defense and defense rebounding?

We need bigs!!!

Peterson is really really good

And our interior defense is really really bad!

I would like to see our PTS off turn overs this game.
It feels like every time we get a stop we fail to score.
At the under 4 timeout it is looking much better though...knock on wood.

Well considering that we've done pretty well with rebounds against much bigger teams all year and this is the best rebounding team in the Big East I think it is more about Peterson and their interior being very good and athletic more than ours being bad.

Maybe the worm has turned. That's twice in a row we've been able to pull out close wins on the road.

The interior defense was downright embarrassing, and it's not like Providence had two talented 6'11" bigs.  I’ll change my stance on the issue to say if Otule can come back this year no way we should hesitate in letting him because putting a 6’10” scarecrow in the paint would have helped our inside defense, and I’d trust a hand-held vacuum cleaner to suck up more rebounds inside than what we did…from a rebounding perspective I wondered why Fulce didn’t get in until late, but it only took 10 seconds to see why as Peterson abused him.

Now we have a week to prepare so we don't get abused by USF in the paint.

It's a testament to how far this team has exceeded expectations that people can still find a way to complain about the manner in which a conference win on the road was achieved.

Did Willie and 46-47 head to the bomb shelter?

It's well after the game now and they haven't resurfaced.  If I wasn't watching my Warriors gut out this tough win on the road against a determined enemy who viewed this as a must win game, I might have glanced up to see if the sky was falling myself from reading these posts.

This game was going to be a challenge from the time the schedule came out and the mountain got higher as we approached the tip, but the guys kept their focus and hopefully have earned all of the good things that could result.

I'm guessing Buzz and the team will be watching the video instead of assuming that none of their mistakes matter simpy because they won.  That's how expectations are exceeded after all.

Great. I hope so.
What does that have to do with your griping?

All the film study in the world isn't going to change their most glaring mistake - being small.
I thought it was obvious to everyone since November that lack of size (and therefore interior defense and rebounding) was going to be an issue this year. If anything, it's become even more of an issue since. It's seems, to me at least, futile (at best) and ridiculous (at worse) to complain about this 3+ months into the season. It's not like MU's interior deficienies are a new revelation.

Anyhow, I guess I'm more apt to be happy about how these guys have overcome their physical limitations to be a very competitve group of overacheivers than I am to p*ss and moan about something we all knew would be the case many months ago.
Po-tay-to po-tah-to.
