MU picked to win the BET

Marquette over West Virginia
Is it the sexiest matchup in Big East history? Certainly not. However, Marquette is the most mentally tough team in the league and after going through the heavyweights to get to the finals, Lazar Hayward and Jimmy Butler leave this one to no doubt. Marquette, 67-60

**EDIT WVU score-- I am in typo hell today, fellas

So he's giving West Virginia a chance with those 6 points?

Those are from the fouls where MU removes the WVU still-beating hearts and shows it to them on the court.

That counts as a flagrant foul.  Two shots per each removed heart.

Weird, it didn't make me wonder that.

However, it made me wonder if MU had any "mentally tough" fans that know how to swallow a tough loss by their team.

Having a seven point lead with 62 seconds left on home court and being taken to overtime doesn't at all speak to mental toughness?

Good thing I have tough guy, "strong like bull" fellow fans like you to show me the right way to get over my team choking.

You've helped a lot with your attempted shaming.

Interesting...
how did your initial comment have enything to do with topic other than to piss and moan about our team not being "mentally tough" or else they would have won the game?  What do you call the three games before that?  You can't win them all, sometimes a team just gets lucky and you can't make a shot.

I called you out on a dumb comment, get over it.

I think we have a better shot at the Elite Eight than winning the BET, playing four straight days in a row with our lack of depth.  At in the NCAA's, at least you have a day off between two of the games.

True.  However, the way that this team relies on the 3 point shot, if they get hot it may be beneficial to just keep playing on consecutive days.  Just a thought.

In the article, Prunty credits Marquette as being the "most mentally tough" team in the conference. The thread topic is based on that article. I made a comment about the article. See spot........there's the connection between initial comment and topic.

Young buck, it's clear you don't truly think it's a dumb comment as you've avoided the question in my response completely. Why so would losing a seven point lead in the last minute not speak to mental toughness?

By the way, if that's "pissing and moaning", you live by awfully low standards.

So if the ball had bounced to MU instead of ND after that hail mary 3 point attemnpt from the corner then MU would have proven it was "mentally tough"?  ::)

Wow ....some people on this board need to get a clue.

MU lost the game....it had nothing to do with mental toughness.

If MU wasn't mentally tough could they have won 3 OT games in a row on the road?

Or were they mentally tough and just forgot how to be mentally tough against ND?

"Mentally tough" is an adjective that should be banned from sports talk period

my biggest concerns about going deep and winning it all are 1) increase the chances for injuries and 2) having a full tank of gas for the big show
