From Jon Rothstein: UConn's attendance for home games at Gampel Pavilion this season will be limited to families of both coaches and student-athletes, per release.

I believe this is the the first Big East school to announce their fan policy.

I expect universal adoption soon.

I still do not believe there will be many games played. For a game to happen it requires both teams to remain healthy.

UWM just announced yesterday that there would be no fans at games through December 31.  Games after that will be reevaluated.

Are they playing their entire season at the Klotche?  I think I saw that Panther Arena is not hosting any events until at least 1/1/21.

No.  All games at Panther Arena.  Even though it's empty in November-December.

No fans at MU games through the end of 2020 at least.  And no season tickets for the 2020-21 season, which I am assuming means that even if they have fans later in the season, they won't be able to accommodate everyone.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HOW I WISH MU WOULD GO BACK TO THE ARENA, PERMANENTLY!!!!

That would be fantastic! Send UWM back to the Klots or rekindle their efforts to build a new on campus arena there.

Get MU back in the Milwaukee Arena, that place could be 'a pit' for MU Basketball once again!!!

Yeah, let's move out of a state of the art NBA arena, that has been cited by recruits as a reason they want to come to MU, to move two blocks away to a (recently renovated) crap hole from the 1950s.

If we are to play games without fans, and the budget is clearly an issue at MU, is it safe to expect our home games to be played at the Al?  What would the purpose for the school be to spend money on rent for games without fans?  Would an empty Fiserv still be a recruiting tool for potential recruits?

I'm not an 17-year old kid...but I think the FF could be a great recruiting tool even if we don't use it for games. Take them there on recruiting visits (if they have them). Take them on virtual tours, show them footage from packed games. And promise they will play there when the pandemic ends.

But as far as games played during the 'no fan' period...I just don't see how an empty, cavernous arena gets kids here any better than a game at the AL.

Just my $0.02.

We also don't know how many costs are fixed.  IOW, MU may be required to play a certain number of games, and fork over a certain amount of $$ each year.  If that is the case, and Fiserv covers some of the "game day costs" such as security, it may actually be most cost effective to play at Fiserv.  Or at least close enough to not make that much of a difference.

Having gone to the Bucks game at the Arena a few years ago, it would be brutal as a home court. It’s built for 5,000 fans. The nostalgia factor was great, but by halftime, I missed the FF amenities.

I am not saying I want to go back to the old arena, but my best years as a fan were at the old arena.
