Putting "Warriors" on the sleeve would be a nice compromise.

I for one, would very much like to see "Warriors" somewhere on the shirt.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

and on the back put your muscoop member id number  :D

Or member name. mosarsour on the back of an MU Scoop shirt/jersey intrigues me a bit. But then again I am a jersey freak.

Oh yeah and please bigger sizes. I'm not trying to squeeze my fat ass into an XL or an undersized XXL (like the new jerseys!) They won't even allow me to special order a bigger size! I was so pissed!!!! >:(

My point was that some feel that way about the GE and some feel that way about Warriors. Given than, we should stick to a "neutral" shirt that references MU Scoop and Marquette basketball.

Neutral. It's MUScoop. Not an MU shirt.

That's pretty good, actually. One thing to keep in mind is that shirts with stuff on the front and back are really expensive as opposed to lettering just on the front. I'm partial to the shirt with the "MUScoop" in the same lettering as the retro-jersey on a gold t-shirt.

How about that goes on the back, and on the front you do it like the retro jersey? I don't know what number you want to use though (maybe 77 or 3?)

I'm not good with designs, but I say use the new "MU" logo and add Scoop to it.
(Will MU really come after us if we did that?)

Any news on these? I'd be willing to sit in a MuScoop shirt committee for ideas, or something. This would be a real cool thing, and blow the MarquetteHoops.com windbreakers out of the water.

Not to stir up the whole debate, but I think it is fair to say that there are some who would want shirts with a Warrior reference and some that would not. Given that, it seems to me that it would be best to do something "neutral."
How about this...a long sleeve shirt, color either the powder blue (with gold lettering/logos) or gold (with powder or navy blue lettering/logos).  Down 1 of the arm sleeves it could say "Warriors" and down the other arm sleeve it could say "Golden Eagles."  On the front it could say MU Scoop (and possibly have some sort of logo?) and on the back there could be the Warrior logo and the Golden Eagle logo with a double sided error between them (they could either be above and below each other or next to each other).  You could also throw on one of the quotes on the back, such as "Where fanatics never graduate."

Price would probably be the issue here, but I think those would be sweet.

Sorry for stealing some of your ideas...I wrote this after reading the first page and thinking that was the last reply in the topic hah.  But I think this would take care of the issue of being neutral.

Any and all Marquette fans should be ashamed to wear something that says "Golden Eagles." It would be like a Frenchman driving a German car.

If you don't agree, you simply don't understand the history.

How about Golden Eagles toilet paper? That way you can put the name to good use!

Here you go PRN... http://www.printedtp.com/

As for the T's, we're still thinking about it/working on it.  This thread had a lot of good suggestions.  Once we have a design or two, we'll put it out there for opinions.

We get it, you don't like the nickname.  Personally, I don't particullarly care for it either and don't buy stuff with it on.  But the powers that be have said it is not going to change so give it a fuc$ing rest!!!!!!

To insult others that actually like the Golden Eagle or don't identify with the Warrior is crude.  Couldn't you, for once, be tactful and state something like: I would prefer that the t-shirt did not have Golden Eagles written on it or that logo as I do not particullarly care for it.

I agree that sooner or later you will have to let this drop. I also agree with the fact that some people would like a neutral shirt.  Personally i will never buy anything with Warriors on it unless it is for my uncles that went to Marquette when they were the warriors.  I was a golden eagle and the golden eagles were the team that i followed to the final four.  to say that the people that support the golden eagles have no sense of history makes you more ignorant than i thought.  i have plenty sense of history, i also have a lot of common sense that says crying on a message board for ever and ever won't get anything changed.  so i will forever support the Golden Eagles as that is part of my history.

After all that incase you couldn't tell, i would vote for a neutral shirt.

The "powers at be" have revisited this issue on more than one occasion, have they not? If you agree that a grave injustice was done, why would you simple accept it? That's pathetic.

And, no, I won't be "tactful" about it. Just a couple years ago, more than 90 percent (!) of alumni "identified" with Warriors and more than 60 percent of students...students who were less than 10 years old when the name was stripped away!

You may enjoy having unnatural acts performed on you, but I don't!!

As much as I'd like to see "Warriors" on the shirt, having neither nickname is the way to go.  Don't want to alienate fellow scoopers.

I'd prefer keeping the shirt as close to a jersey (preferably a retro jersey) as possible.  Just replacing the "Marquette" with "MUScoop," having #77, and having your Scoop ID's across the back.

Thanks for the suggestions all.  I'm locking this topic as it has served its purpose and is degenerating into a nickname debate.  As Rocky said above, we're looking into this and will try to have a design or two out at some point in the (hopefully somewhat near) future.
