MUScoop T-Shirts
« on: October 26, 2007, 01:21:40 PM »
It seems like there was some interest in producing some MUScoop Tees, so I'd like to get peoples opinions, and harness the creative powers of the 'Scoop community.

As opposed to just a bland weekend shirt, I'd like to throw out the idea of a designer tee instead.  I think it'd look super sharp, and show that we've got more personality at MUScoop than your average website. 'Course that's just my preference.  Regardless, there's still all sorts of things to consider, so I'd like use this thread to consolidate thoughts on:
 - Colors to use?
 - Any images/themes we should use (or not use)?
 - Creative text/taglines?
  - Whatever else you would like to add...

Our resident wallpaper expert - Jon Custodio aka MUCrew has offered to help with the design of the shirt.  All he's asked in return, is that if you need any custom wallpapers or shirts for your business/organization (heck, even personal use) consider him for the job.  You've already seen his quality work, and you're supporting an MU grad at the same time :)

Color:  Gotta be predominantly gold... these should be able to double as game shirts

was thinking a schedule on back or something but that would be less of a designer type and more of a weekend type shirt so nix that.

1.) No Yellow Shirts. Grrr...so many yellow shirts. But they look good in the BC. It's a toss-up!
2.) No 'Ringer" style shirts.
3.) A large makeup of the logo would be cool on the front.
4.) Maybe offer names/numbers on the back for additional $$?
5.) A phrase on the back would be great, something very scoopish.

"Your number one source for Marquette University information."
"Come see how good our Wiki looks"
"Cracked Sidewalks, French pastries, and Marquette Hoops."
"Where Marquette Fanatics never graduate."
"The Iron Chefs of Marquette Hoops"

I somewhat agree on the too many yellow shirts.. but make this one distinctive a little.. Yellow body, blue sleeves maybe?  or maybe just a wide blue stripe down the sleeve and around the bottom of the body?

I'd say in my four years here I've accquired roughly 20 gold t-shirts.  As good as they look in the BC I would prefer something that wasn't all gold.

I like Spiral's idea of adding blue to the sleeves or somewhere on the shirt.

I know the consensus seems to be along the lines of a designer shirt but I think it would be cool to pattern the design after a retro uniform. (Bumble bee unis?)  You know something that is genuinely marquette and actually some of the "ugly" retro jerseys are now in fashion.  Like the Old Padre uniforms, the old White Sox unis, etc..

I like the saying "Where Marquette Fanatics Never Graduate" because, let's be honest, it's true :-p

What do you think about this shirt style...too sporty?

I would just worry about the costs rising too much of shirt that is part blue, and the quality of the shirts unless they were custom made and stitched.

How about instead of 'gold' we get yellow instead. Like a true yellow, not orange-yellow. Yellow. They match outfits so much better.

I like MUCrew's shirts. A little Charger-esque though. Could the colors be inverted?

Top 10 reasons for visiting MUScoop daily

1.  Where Marquette Fanatics never graduate.
2.  Daily Sumurfluous explanations of of player and coaching capabilities
3.  PRN....not
4.  best thing since closing the Gym and staggering in for a bowl of the Real
5.  etc

I like this idea.  Take the jersey below and replace Marquette with MU Scoop.  You could also replace the number with the MU Scoop warrior face logo.  And of course make it a jersey t-shirt.

Tshirts are a very good idea...I actually love the idea.

In terms of color, even though many of you hate yellow, it attracts the most attention.  I like the top ten list and the slogan "Where Marquette Fanatics never graduate."  Lots of possibilities.

Something slimming.   And since I am balding as well as fat, ballcaps.   I would love it if we could play off the new "retro" jersey.

Got to go with the baby blue.  The site's color has baby blue in it and our past uniforms had the color as well.  It should be similar to the ones handed out when we played Pitt in the last home game of 06-07 season.

I opt for a golf/polo style shirt in navy with gold detail and lettering. It has to include Warriors on the sleeve or collar and Willie Wampum over the heart.

Agreed about the colour being Gold. Maybe this would be an opportunity to come up with a cool MUScoop logo, and the shirt simply being Gold with the new logo on the front in Marquette Blue?

The letters MU Scoop with the two o's in Scoop, easily lends itself to using the "oo" as either basketballs or basketball hoops. That could lead to a cool logo.

It would be cool to have and wear these shirts at games, making it easy to identify our fellow "MU Scoopers".  Of course, the next logical step will include the creation of a secret hand-shake.   ;D

Not to stir up the whole debate, but I think it is fair to say that there are some who would want shirts with a Warrior reference and some that would not. Given that, it seems to me that it would be best to do something "neutral."
